Thanks so much for all the happy birthday wishes! And for participating in my Happy Birthday give-away!
Today, I’ll announce the randomly drawn winners of the give-away items and tell you what’s coming up – especially with next week’s schedule.

First, the winners! I’ll be reaching out via email to each of you, so please keep an eye out! Each of these winners was selected randomly using a random number generator. We will randomly select the gift that gets mailed to each of them, too.
Give-Away Winners…
I asked you all what you guess I’d be doing for my birthday, or what you’d suggest for good birthday plans, so here are the randomly drawn winners and their suggestions:
Darlene Dubicki: My guess is that you would spend your bday stitching in your favorite spot with a cup of tea that never grows cold! (I have to find that kind of cup of tea! I never knew there was such a thing!)
Kathy: My preferred birthday celebration is pizza and cupcakes! I too will be celebrating a milestone birthday this month. I’ve been looking for a place to get the best cupcakes in town for a month now. Gotta have plenty of good frosting. (Pizza and cupcakes sound good!)
Dianne Kosboth: I guess you will stitch your favorite project, have some tea, eat a delicious goodie. (Believe it or not, I didn’t manage one stitch on my birthday – on any project. And (!) I didn’t have any goodies, unless you count salmon for dinner. LOL!)
Peggy Eggert: I think you should spend your birthday stitching, and then go out for a meal at your favorite restaurant. (Not one stitch all day long, I’m afraid!)
Nora: Will you be spending your birthday with friends and family and celebrating by eating cake, reflecting on the past year and planning on stitching ideas for next year? I hope you have sunshine and roses and lots of chocolate! (I did spend the day with family, in a sense. No cake that day, I’m afraid. No chocolate, either!)
…and Birthday Plans
I was absolutely delighted to read everyone’s guesses and suggestions! But it made me realize I must be a Really Boring Person. Here’s how it went:
On the Sunday evening before my birthday, my sister and her family came over and we had cake – just a simple cake with whipped cream and fresh berries. It was yummy and fun!
On my actual birthday, I came to work, where Anna had decorated (picture at the end of the give-away article).
In the afternoon, my niece Julie and her little kids popped in at the studio. We waited for a Massive oversized load that was scheduled to drive through our town that day (the things we do for entertainment…), but it never drove through. So they left.
After a pretty regular day mostly involving computer work, shipping, and reading your comments, my niece Clare came to my house and cooked salmon for dinner.
At some point in the evening, I played a game of cribbage online with my sister in Pennsylvania. I probably won.
It was a pretty stellar day. Nothing disastrous happened, the weather was nice albeit chilly, the sun was shining.
The only flaw was that missing oversized load.
I live in rural Kansas. What can I say?
The Sale’s Still On!
Don’t forget, we have a Spring Sale going on over in the shop. It ends tonight! The sale items are marked as “on sale” and they reflect the sale price (discounts of 10 – 15%, depending on the items).
Coming Up!
Anna and I are working on a Spring Eye-Spy for you – I’ll post that on Easter! Lots of Easter eggs in this one. It’s those felt eggs – I’m addicted!
If you’re interested, I’ll share a studio update with you. Besides breaking out some spring decor, there’s the serious matter of a new shelf. Think of it as a DIY William Morris-spin project. It’s to display my other obsession – beeswax. Anna is rather horrified at the thing, because, admittedly, it doesn’t quite fit the current all-white, clean, tidy look of the studio. In my heart of hearts, I know it’s a bit garish, but I couldn’t help it.
Next week, the schedule on the blog and in the studio will be somewhat light. We usually take the last part of Holy Week off, to attend Holy Week liturgical services and to get ready for Easter.
The studio will be closed from Thursday, April 17 through Monday, April 21. We will ship any orders received during that time on Tuesday, April 22. I’ll likely remind folks of this again next week.
Needlework Stands Incoming!
Concerning the Modern needlework stand that I reviewed here, here’s the exciting news! They have begun to trickle in! Woooohooooo!
I’ll be reaching out to you in the order of your emails expressing interest, to let you know when yours is ready to ship if you still want it. If you wrote in about that stand, do keep an eye out for my email!
Have a wonderful weekend!
