Here’s a video tutorial for the scroll stitch. While working on refurbishing the How-to Videos here on Needle ‘n Thread, and going through the list a gazillion times to try to remember what’s there and what’s not, I was surprised that somehow, I missed this stitch! So, finally, I’m adding it to the collection.
Scroll stitch is a line stitch – it makes very pretty decorative lines, curves, and so forth, that look scalloped.
In the video, the scroll stitch might look slightly laborious, but once you get the hang of the stitch, it’s another one that works up fairly quickly.

The video will not play. I get a black screen with a message that says it is a private video and that I must accept a “friend” request to see it.
Yikes. Thanks, Kathryn, for taking time to comment and let me know! I appreciate that!
It’s fixed now.
Best regards,
Mary
Yep, its working. Very nice stitch, and new to me. I have an immediate use for it. Thank you for all the work you do on this site. I have learned a lot from you.

Thanks, Kathy!
Bonjour, Violette! Merci!
Oh, I like this. Much easier than French knots I think. I’d love to use this somewhere, some how on my Christmas ornaments. I’ll have to think about it. I bet I could even use it on the baby quilt I’m making. Hmmm.
I’m doing some redwork for a grand daughter’s Christmas quilt; this will work in beautifully!
I can’t view the videos :(.
All I get is a small box in the upper left hand corner that has a little red square, a little blue triangle and a little green circle in it. Do you have any idea what program I need to have on my computer to view the videos? Thanks for any help you can give.
Hi, Lois – Here’s the link to the System Requirements for watching the video on your computer: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=78358
Hope that helps!

Please advise?
Regards
Rhona
Hi, Rhona – the video for scroll stitch is at the end of the post, above. It’s showing on this end. Perhaps try refreshing the page? If you’re using a desktop (not a tablet or mobile device), you might need to update your flash player or something, if it isn’t showing on your end. But it’s up and running on this end!
