Last week, after reviewing Autopsy of the Montenegrin Stitch: Exhumed by Amy Mitten, we had a little give-away for the book, and today, the winner is announced!
Like I mentioned last week in the review for the book, Montenegrin stitch – while “easy” enough on a straight line (it’s a somewhat complex stitch, even on a straight line, but it’s a great-looking stitch, so it’s worth the effort!), gets a bit confusing when turning corners or joining lines. This book is the most thorough one-stitch-stitch-dictionary you’ll probably ever find – the whole thing is devoted to dissecting this one stitch and putting it back together in easy to follow diagrams, so that you can master the Montenegrin stitch.
So, on to the winner! The winner is….
Tania Kleckner! Her comment:
I thought I knew a lot about embroidery but I never heard of this stitch! How wonderful to learn something new everyday. Montenegrin looks complicated and intriguing and challenging – just like the mysteries Amy Mitten must love!
If won this wonderful little give away, I might use this stitch as an edging on a hand towel or perhaps a table runner. It looks like fun but would certainly require lots of concentration. A good summer project.
Well, Tania, congratulations! Now you can have fun concentrating on it! Yes, I agree – a good summer project. I like to tackle learning new things in the summer, when life (for me, anyway) slows down a bit.
Please contact me with your mailing address, and I’ll send this off as soon as possible!
Thanks again to Amy Mitten of Fibers to Dye For, for the book to pass on to one of you… If you’re looking for your own copy of Autopsy of the Montenegrin Stitch: Exhumed, you can find it on her website.
No affiliation here; Amy sent a copy of her book, which I liked, so I reviewed it. She also generously supplied another copy for a give-away, and it always makes me happy to be able to pass along a little something to at least one person out there!
Congratulations Tania! You’ve got your work cut out for you but I bet you’ll conquer the technique with Amy’s book. Have fun.
Congratulations!!!
Nice week to you.
G’day Mary and Tania,
Oh, you lucky-duck Tania. How lovely, good on you.
Thanks again Mary and Amy. Cheers, Kath.
