Happy Birthday to Me! Let’s Celebrate!

Amazon Books

Today, I’m celebrating another milestone by becoming one day older – because let’s face it: I’m really only a day older than I was yesterday.

In fact, following this line of logic, I’ve decided to start calculating my age differently. By my new calculations, I must be somewhere around 20,000.

“It’s your birthday?! Why, how old are you?”

“I’m 20,000, give or take…”

It just feels so right.

For my birthday, I thought we’d have our own little party here on Needle ‘n Thread, by having a give-away.

Additionally, we’re going to have a sale! Yay! More on that below the give-away!

Birthday give-away and sale, 2025

Today’s birthday give-away features five lovely prezzies that will go, one of each, to five of you lovely people, all randomly drawn. Read on for the details of the gifts and how to participate in the give-away.

There are two books up for grabs:

An Introduction to Whitework Embroidery with Color by Trish Burr. This newly published instructional and project book features 10 embroidery projects, along with re-usable iron-on transfers for each project.

Contrast in Crewel Embroidery: Modern Designs on Light and Dark by Tatiana Popova. This book is a hard-backed edition, featuring of a variety of large and small projects worked on contrasting backgrounds, utilizing over 135 stitches that are presented in the book. There are hundreds of step-by-step photos to help you explore these projects and stitches.

French Sampler Style Stamped Cross Stitch Design in Blue

There’s a set of these ready-to-stitch vintage-style French sampler cross stitch towels up for grabs. We haven’t released these yet, but we’ll make a set especially for whoever wins this particular prezzie.

Birthday give-away and sale, 2025

There’s a sweet smelling, delicious (but certainly not edible) package of these beautiful beeswax petites awaiting a winner! These little morsels of beeswax are excellent for any sewing kit, but they’re especially nice for anyone who does goldwork, who uses beads as embellishment, or who sews other things onto fabric. Beeswax is the ultimate thread protector and strengthener.

Birthday give-away and sale, 2025

Finally, we’re giving away a set of cotton floche – in particular, “Birthday Bouquet,” of course. This is a bright and happy 12-color set of floche. You’ll love it!

  1. Well from the picture my guess is you’ll be at your lovely shop for your birthday because that IS your happy place. I’m right there with you…I’ve often wondered how many miles of thread have I embroidered. Always happiest with a needle and thread in my hand. Happiest of Birthdays, Mary.

    1
  2. On my birthday I would just want to sit and stitch and relax but since you do so much of that maybe you would like to take a break and go out to dinner with friends.

    2
  3. Wishing you all the best on your Birthday and I will eat your cake with ice cream! Yummy

    3
  4. I think you will have a nice meal with friends and family. Good food, good conversation and lots of love. That is my plan also next month!

    4
  5. Happy Birthday, Mary. I hope your birthday plans include some ‘me’ time: curl up with a new book and a hot cup of tea and just enjoy some time to yourself (I may be projecting.)

    6
  6. I hope you go out to eat and don’t have to cook on your birthday! But mine is on the 11th and I’ve got an appointment for a physical at 7:30 a.m.! I guess last year when I scheduled it I thought that would be amusing! 🙂

    8
  7. Birthday plans? I imagine a fabulous French dinner for four, at a restaurant and you will provide the hand embroidered tablecloth.

    10
  8. I imagine for your birthday you will eat something delicious and stitch on a project they brings you joy!

    11
  9. Mary,
You are such a talented and inspirational soul and your birthday plans must include some creative spectacular use of yarn, for sure………………probably draping and streaming it all over your office or work area in some fantastic display. Oh, how I wish I could see that!

    Best wishes,
    Debra W.

    12
  10. Your plans for your birthday celebration is to go to your favorite restrauant with family and one close friend ordering your favorite meal.

    13
  11. Mary,
I think you are going to have a family dinner at a local restaurant, or in a family member’s home.
Whatever you do have a great time.
    Happy Birthday,
    Lesley-Anne

    16
  12. Happy Birthday Mary! I think your plans are a nice supper out and then home to relax. I know that is what I like to do! Have a lovely day.

    17
  13. We hv 12 birthdays in April in our family!
    Sooo much cake and hilarity!!
    Welcome to the family!!!

    18
  14. I think birthdays should be joyously celebrated with friends, family, good food and fun. So, whatever you enjoy, let the party begin! And don’t limit it to just one portion of the day – celebrate life all day! Happy Birthday!

    19
  15. I hope your day is spent with friends and family, and relaxation (even if that means designing a new project).

    20
  16. I’m going to suggest an afternoon with your feet up doing some stitching just for you (not work related!) and maybe a cup of tea with a good friend. Happy Birthday!

    21
  17. I would hope that your plans include a little time to relax and reflect.
A time to stitch, on something for your pleasure, not “work required”.
And finally, sharing a wonderful meal of all your favorite foods with family cooked by someone other than you.

    22
  18. No matter what number my birthday is, without family it would just be another day. I hope your day is blessed with love, good food and lots of laughter.

    23
  19. Happy birthday! From your number of days I’m guessing we are much of an age, which is obviously the very best age to be 🙂

As for your birthday plans, I’m havering between something completely non-stitchy, like a walk in lovely countryside, or…. no, my guess is going to be “stitching a project purely for your own enjoyment, without any need to write instructions or think about how repeatable it is”. But whatever your plans are, I hope they bring you great pleasure and joy!

    24
  20. Happy Birthday! Hopefully you are spending it with those you love and maybe spending a part of it stitching a new inspired idea just for you! Have a great day!

    25
  21. While I’m sure cake is some part in the celebration today, I believe you’ll probably have a sit-down with either a good embroidery book or some wonderful project you’ve been wanting to do. Have a blessed , wonderful celebration. ( It’s always best to be on this side of the dirt….)

    26
  22. Happy Birthday! I’m hoping your plans include a nice dinner with friends and/or family, including cake and ice cream.

    28
  23. Happy Birthday! I expect you will supply refreshments at the shop/workspace for your employee(s) – possibly take Anna to lunch (or visa versa). On the closest weekend, I believe you will have a nice get together with your family and a few close friends.

    Congratulations!
    Lois

    29
  24. Go out to dinner with your family and friends for a fantastic time laughing and great food!

    30
  25. Happy Birthday!
I hope you plan to sleep late, eat whatever you’re craving, and stitch for your own pleasure (not for work).

    31
  26. I don’t know how you will have time for anything other than blowing out 20,000 +/- candles!
    Happy Birthday–do whatever you want!

    32
  27. Happy Birthday!
I think you will be fed a wonderful dinner at a restaurant of your choice followed by a quick trip to DQ to pick up an ice cream birthday cake to share with family! Gifts and this cake follow with a birthday song plus lots of ribbing , jokes and fun with family!

    33
  28. Happy Birthday fellow aries!
My guess is you’ll treat yourself to scrumptious threads and maybe even a new stitching project… after all, starting something new really gets the creative flow going full flow. And maybe you’ll enjoy a delicious to you treat, a decadent extra, for this one day that is especially yours!
Enjoy all the moments, today and always. Thanks for all you do!

    34
  29. A happiest of birthdays to you. I embroidered a lot from about age 10 through college but laid aside my books, tools, and supplies for many years. Stumbling across your web site encouraged me to take it up again. Your site is a gift to all of us

I hope you celebrate your day surrounded by the love of friends and family, with delicious treats to savor and share.
    Carrie B.

    35
  30. I think you will spend a lovely day with your feet up, sipping a cup of tea, and stitching to your heart’s content!!!

    36
  31. Happy Birthday Mary!
Birthdays are a wonderful reason to reserve a day for doing your favorite things–and only your favorite things! My suggestion for your 20,000th day is to spend the day doing what you truly enjoy, as much or as little of each thing as you like, and to let your loved ones and friends handle all the less fun parts of those activities (like maybe set-up, clean-up, etc.). Their gift to you can be to relieve of the mundane parts of your joyful experiences and your daily tasks. And then, at the end of your day you sit back and reflect on the rich treasures of your life, both the joys and the people. Enjoy your day!

    37
  32. How about a cocktail party with a few friends! Each guest bring fixings for a cocktail (or mocktail if non alcoholic). They fix it and explain the history of the drink and/or why they chose it! We do this when we have our card making nights. Happy Birthday!

    38
  33. I think you should put your feet up and stitch all day on a project for yourself and then go out for a lovely dinner this evening. Happy Birthday fellow Kansan!

    39
  34. My guess is that you would spend your bday stitching in your favorite spot with a cup of tea that never grows cold!

    40
  35. Happy Birthday!

I have several ideas for you for your birthday.

    1. Have a personal day, do whatever makes you happy, stitch a new project, a UFO, or whatever you’re working on.

    2. Do something special for each year (or maybe one thing for every five years!).

    3. Visit some local place new to you, a restaurant, a park, a church or a landmark.

    4. Treat yourself to a new pair of scissors, some special thread, a fancy lunch, whatever makes you happy.

Know how many people live and admire you.
    Penny Morgan

    41
  36. Happy Birthday! I like your idea for specifying your age. I will adopt that specification from now on. 🙂
To celebrate your special day … nice dinner with a glass of wine by the fireplace.

    42
  37. Happy Birthday, Mary! Having been a long-time reader, I’d say you’re probably going to spend it stitching! What better way to enjoy the day?

    43
  38. I hope your birthday plans include a birthday cake – perhaps in the shape of a pincushion! I hope your plans also include going out for dinner to somewhere really special.
I’m pretty sure your birthday plans would also include your family and your friends.
Whatever your plans include, I hope you have a fabulous birthday, with lots of love and hugs!

    44
  39. A lovely month for a birthday. I suggest a lovely quiet dinner at your favorite restaurant with your favorite person. My birthday is April 11. If I win it will be a birthday present.

    45
  40. Happy Birthday Mary! I would guess since it’s a Tuesday that there will be some time spent in your workspace, some cake with candles, and hopefully plenty stitching time with no “frogging.” Enjoy your day!

    47
  41. I would hope that you are planning to stitch on something that gives you pleasure, something that is not a ‘required’ stitch for a commission or for the shop, but a fun stitch for yourself.

A nice, relaxing meal that you don’t cook for yourself would also be a good plan.

    48
  42. My suggestion for your birthday- go to your favorite restaurant, order your favorite dish & a wonderful bottle of your favorite wine (if you drink wine) & have your favorite decadent dessert!! You deserve it – a most Happy Birthday!! Celebrate You!!

    49
  43. Hope you have a wonderful birthday! I think that should include tea and pastries with a friend and a mani/pedi. Have a great day!
    Maria

    50
  44. Can you guess what my birthday plans are? Ok, if you’d rather, you’re welcome to suggest some birthday plans (but please keep it nice!).

    53
  47. You work so hard so how about a Happy spa day at home with all the trimmings. Have a great year!

    55
  48. I think an ideal birthday would be brunch, followed by a trip to a museum or gallery (preferably stitch or craft related) and then either afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes, or a meal out with family. Whatever you choose to do, hope you have a wonderful day!

    56
  49. Some of your plans include a giveaway and a sale, which includes work and organization. But I think family will treat you to a delicious dinner. And, of course, a cake with candles! Have a wonderful birthday! Happy Birthday! Enjoy!

  51. Happy birthday Mary. I hope you have a great day. I’m thinking you’re going to
relax and enjoy some stitching today for your own pleasure. Enjoy.

    59
  52. An ideal birthday should include the opportunity to sleep late (if you want to), coffee or tea ready and waiting, as much stitching/crafting time as you wish and the dinner of your choice. Perhaps a small gift or two would be nice, along with many, many birthday greetings from friends far and near. Happy Birthday, Mary!

    60
  53. Happy birthday! Enjoy today and the next 20,00p days!
I hope you spend the day with people you love doing things that enrich your life!

    61

    64
  57. Happy Birthday to you! At 20,000 days I think you should do whatever you like. My idea of a perfect Birthday would be cake for breakfast and a day of embroidery. Maybe squeeze in a walk along the way. If the weather is agreeable. Hope you have a wonderful day!

    65
  58. It’s my birthday in a few weeks and I am going to take the day off work and go to my favourite café and have hot chocolate and cake for breakfast. If it wasn’t a week day I would be cycling with my husband to a further away favourite café to have hot chocolate and cake for breakfast.
You might not be so cake driven as I am but I would suggest giving it a go.

    66
  59. Thank you for offering this drawing. My birthday was on Sunday! So Happy April (flowers and showers!) Birthday! And you must have some great cake, too!

    67

    73
  66. Happy Birthday Mary!!!! Wishing you a bright and cheery spring day and week to celebrate your special occasion. 79
  69. I am envisioning…lunch with friends, a gentle hike…followed by time/dinner with family…followed by a long hot bath and a good book…then possible a movie in pj’s. Maybe I am just envisioning MY perfect birthday!!!:)
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    80
  70. Hmmmm…since Anna decorated your workshop, I will guess you are not travelling either near nor far. So…I will guess you are working on a new favorite project yet to be presented, followed by an evening celebration with your beloved local family. Happy Birthday, dear Mary! 20,000 more to you!
    Linda

    81
    1. Yes, you’re right! We’re working un the studio. I’m still fiddling with eggs for a bit, but then I’ll be working on the next stitch snippet – coming out a little later this year.

  71. Happy birthday! As for birthday plans, I always recommend a big piece of your favorite cake or pie or, why not, a brownie or blondie sundae. Could be with or without one or more candles!!! And yes, some time for stitching 🙂

    Many happy returns,
    Dectora

    82
  72. Happy Birthday!
My guess/ suggestion for Birthday fun is to have lunch with friends, followed by a strawberry filled cake. (I only assume strawberry because you are probably sick of winter and craving spring. Or maybe that is just me.)

    84
    1. LOL. We had birthday cake on Sunday evening. My sister and her family came over – and yes, it featured fresh strawberries (and other berries). Perfect for spring, even if it was 35 degrees out…! It’s not just you. I’m ready for warmer days and nice evenings.

  73. I had my birthday this week, too. I like your method and did the math to come up with 23,363 days old for me, haha. Won’t the grandkids be impressed!

I think you will buy an embroidery book for yourself that you’ve been wanting, but have thought it was not quite the time, but since now it is your birthday, you feel relaxed about making the purchase. Oh, and you will probably want to sort through your projects for fun and to decide what you want to work on next. And you should probably organize a particular corner of your work area along the way.

    Happy Birthday!

    85
  74. Happy 20,000 plus or minus! Wish I were that young again. I always consider my birthday (or any day) complete if it includes dark chocolate. If that appeals to you, I hope you celebrate with some.

    86
  75. I think you are going to take a drive thru the beautiful Flint Hills of Kansas to the Little Apple for a fun day of shopping.

    87
  76. Happy Birthday! I’m guessing you will spend some time stitching something just for yourself and then maybe dinner out with family and friends..

    88
  77. Spending time with family would be my choice for birthday plans – a lovely dinner cooked for me or out, with CAKE, of course!!

    89
  78. Happy Felicitations! Stitch to your hearts content on something you have always wanted to try and enjoy family!

    90
  79. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!! I think you’re going to work, then go home to your updated house and have a fine dinner with your dad. ❤️

    91
  80. Happy Birthday! You don’t look a day over 15,000! I think your birthday will be spent in a comfy chair stitching!

    92
  81. Do something nice for yourself. Eat your favorite food, ignoring fat, sugar or whatever. I like the new way of calculating your age. Happy Birthday and many more

    93
  82. I would expect some stitching on your birthday, purely for fun, not work. I also see some cake, maybe a dinner with friends and family, and some lazy time outside in the sunshine. Enjoy!!!!

    94
  83. My guess is out to dinner with family and friends. What you should do for your birthday is a textile tour of Italy with plenty of gelato and pasta. Happy Happy Birthday!!

    95
  84. I cannot guess what your birthday plans might be, but my birthday plans every year is to host a power point party! My friends bring a 5 min presentation on That One Thing they need to rant at a captive audience. (One year my presentation was on how cool silk is…) If the presenter goes over the prescribed 5 mins, drinking is involved… all are encouraged to have much more than 5 mins worth of rant… we have a good time, lol. Happy birthday!

    96
  85. Spend the whole day doing what you love most. Even better, do several things that you love. Mix it up.

    97
  86. Happy Birthday Mary! I bet you’re going to take a nice long bubble bath and listen to a fun podcast. That would be my choice. Whatever you do, have fun.

    98
  87. Mary, I think your birthday plans include spending time enjoying a delicious meal with your loved ones, eating birthday cake, and doing a bit of stitching. As far as a suggestion on how to spend your birthday, why not take some time to reflect with gratitude on your life-after all, life is the greatest gift we have been given!

    99
  88. Birthday Plans: hmmm . . . I think you will spend the day (or at least the evening) with your family. Someone will make a beautiful chocolate cake, it will have candles and there will not really be any gifts (no one knows what else to buy you except stitching stuff that you already have) but lots of love and attention. During the day, however, you will spend your time doing what you do best – stitching!
Happy Birthday Mary. You’re one of the best.

    100
  89. Love everything you do especially this latest embroidery with the Blue Cross Stitch. Started stitching when I was about six years old and never stopped. Thank you

    101
  90. Have your family make a cake of your favorite threads that you can pull off to make a thank you card. (they might have it ready by next year. LOL). just sit back and enjoy the love of your family and friends from around the world.

    102
  91. Happy Birthday, Mary. I hope you have planned to spend your day stitching on a favourite project and that you will have dinner catered followed by a delicious birthday cake. Have a wonderful day! Nancy

    103
  92. I think you will spend your birthday stitching something beautiful. I also hope that at some point of the day, cake will be involved. Happy Birthday.

    104
  93. Eat Cake!!!!!! and a piece for me. Enjoy the day by taking in the beauty around you that will inspire new creations. The beautiful daffodils and tulips that are currently in bloom. Enjoy special family and friends with a cup of tea!

    105
  94. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Not sure what you would do. I would take it as a chance to stitch the day away but then, it’s my hobby and not my job. I think you should treat yourself to a nice dinner at your favorite restaurant, fix a cup of tea to do some stitching and watch a movie you’ve been wanting to see. Just kick back and enjoy…whatever that may be.

    106
  95. I think you are going to lunch with some lady friends. And then your hubby man will take you to a nice dinner at your favorite restaurant. Happy Birthday celebrate your life.

    107
  96. I believe you will take a day off from ‘work’ and spend the day with a cup of coffee/tea and your current favorite piece of stitching. Happy Birthday!

    109
  97. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful relaxing day. I’d recommend a day of your favorite self-care activities.

Start the day with your favorite pastry & tea while reading the paper and listening to music.

Throughout the day, go for walks with your favorite people, be with nature.

In the evening, put on your most comfortable outfit, sit by a fire and work on a favorite sewing project.

End the night with a sweet treat and a relaxing book or tv show.

    110
  98. How lucky you are to have a birthday in Spring, when it’s time to get out there and plant things—or walk around town admiring the pale green and pink and yellow things leafing and blossoming out. That is what I would do if my birthday was in Spring. Then I’d go home to a hot cup of tea or red wine. Happy 20,000th!

  99. Happy Birthday from a 27,500 day old follower! My favorite thing about my birthday is that I make it a guilt free day. Not that I’m generally consumed with guilt….But I just do the parts of my jobs and projects that I like to do best… And I ALWAYS go out for dinner! So. I cant guess what you’ll be doing. but I wish a stress free day and dinner out for you. You are a gift to so many of us, I hope you are showered with gifts today.

    112
  100. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!! I think you’re going to have a nice dinner with friends & family and stitch a little just for you! That’s what I enjoy doing on my birthday 🙂

    113
  101. Happy Birthday!! Pick out something to start or finish for each year you are celebrating. Think of it as a stitchy life insurance – you have to live long enough to do them all.

    116
  102. In part, your birthday plans are to hold a give a way.
What I like to do is prepare or buy some food that I particularly like and avoid chores for the day. When my son lives close we do something together.
Maybe you like to spend some time with family doing something that is not related to working?

    117
  103. As your birthday is so close to mine, I think a perfect birthday would be …branch in the garden with a few of your friends and family.
Then a nice long walk, no matter the day we always need nature for the soul and inspiration.
And dinner at your favourite restaurant with your family. Have a great day ☘️

    118
  104. I forgot to add that I think that you’re going to celebrate by having a stitching party!

    120
  105. Happy 20,000th birth day! I’d encourage you to go to an ice cream stand/shop (rain or shine) and get a cone with your favorite flavor. That’s my favorite birthday tradition!

    121
  106. Enjoy your special day and every day with a cup of your favorite beverage and a slice of warm sourdough bread slathered with local honey and homemade peach jam.

    122
  107. Happy Birthday, Mary! I don’t know what your birthday plans are, but maybe they include a nice dinner out with family and friends? Happy Birthday and God bless you this year and every year!

    123
  108. I imagine that you will gather your stitching friends together and stitch away for cozy hours sipping some chilled white wine and sweet cakes into the night. No work…just floss linen and friends

    124
  109. Didn’t leave a comment on what you should do for your birthday. I say, do whatever your little heart desires! Cb

    125
  110. Happy Birthday! May your day be fun and may your year be filled with beautiful bits of thread and dreams come true!
I think you should stitch out doors(if possible). Anf buy yourself some silk thread!

    126
  111. I’m envisioning a lovely cup of tea, soothing music or podcast and a little relaxing embroidery. Happy Birthday!!

    128
  112. Happy Birthday! Your birthday should include a toast at your wonderful shop to celebrate everything you have accomplished. Thank you for continuing to provide so many wonderful tools and beautiful inspiration for my needlework journey. You are a treasure!

    129
  113. Happy Birthday, Mary! I think you’re going to work in the shop then go to dinner with friends.

    130
  114. I think your birthday plans are to settle into a comfy corner of your sunniest room, with a cup of tea, and do some stitching, while others make a delicious meal complete with cake and ice cream for you
    Carol Viens

    131
  115. I was initially going to say that you planned to take the day off and stitch at home, but then I saw that your workstation was bedecked with balloons. So my guess is you are going to enjoy take away lunch with your friends and then your husband is making you a delicious dinner of halibut or steak (or both) and a relaxing evening. Whatever you do have an enjoyable day!

    132
  116. Happy Birthday Mary! You are amazing, as in you are giving gifts on your 20,000th Birthday.
Today is a day to celebrate. You and Anna should do something fun in the shop with your needles and threads. Spend time with family having cake and ice cream, then later have a cup of your favorite tea while you do some stitching.

    133
  117. Hmmm… I think you may have a lovely quiet dinner to celebrate, maybe with your father and some of your other relatives who live close by (Anna?). :D. But I think you should be contacting the local city fathers before next year to arrange for a big parade down Main St. to celebrate how lucky they are to have that Birthday Girl living and working in their sweet town. Happy, happy birthday and may you have 1,000,000,000 more (I hope that’s enough! LOL).

    134
  118. Happy Birthday!!, I think you will go out to a nice dinner. Make sure u have a yummy dessert.

    135
  119. I think you should take a drive into Topeka and have a lovely Italian dinner with a very good friend.

Blessings to you on your birthday!

    136
  120. A nice birthday would include sitting in the warm sunshine in a garden or room with lots of windows and fresh air with a nice cup of tea or coffee. Or a lovely visit with friends and family…

    138
  121. Birthday plans, I’d say enjoy it with friends and family, and definitely get some stitching in with Anna at work. Happy Birthday

    139
  122. Many happy returns. I hope you have a wonderful day with friends and family if you can. I am sure you might find time to embroidery some too. I bet that is in your plans. You have helped me so much learning how to do and work with satin stitches to make it look better.

    140
  123. I too think everyday should be a celebration of your birthday!!! So using your method I am 27,807!!

Celebrate with a big piece of your favorite cake!!

    141
  124. I hope a nice dinner with friends and family, good food, and conversation. Have a great birthday.

    142
  125. Happy Birthday to you. I wish you a quiet day, doing what you want to do. An evening out with your best friend is also very nice.

    143
  126. For your birthday, I bet you’re doing some stitching, spending time with family, and eating cake. Hope it’s a great one !

    144
  127. You will have decadent chocolate birthday cake. Have a fabulous time on your special day!

    145
  128. Sing this song to all your friends:

    “Happy Birthday to me,
    I am now 53,
And I’m coming to your house for tea.
    Happy Birthday to me!”

    146
  129. Best birthday wishes! I hope you make time to sit amid some beautiful spring flowers and do some non-work related stitching with a cup of tea and a slice of birthday cake!

    147
  130. I think you will stitch dawn to dusk….no interruptions, no work, no phone calls, no people around (Anna is OK)….just stitching. Pure unadulterated stitching….Happy Birthday, dear one!

    148
  131. Happy Birthday Mary, mine is tomorrow. For your Birthday start a new project with a new technique. Have a beautiful day.

    150
  132. I love the beeswax “treats”!

  134. Happy birthday Mary! I’m guessing you will work a bit, stitch a bit, chat with all your birthday well-wishers, and celebrate a bit with any close by family. Enjoy! Best birthday wishes for a happy, healthy trip around the sun!

    153
  135. You’ll be embroidering while thinking about future projects and materials.

    Happy birthday!!!

    154
  136. Happy Birthday to you! Hope you are spending your time with a fun sewing project and of course some cake!

    155
  137. Dear Mary,
Happy Birthday. I just celebrated my 89th birthday. All birthdays in our house are celebrated with a delicious carrot cake or hummingbird cake. Please do not include me in your give away. I just want to wish you a healthy and happy birthday. My Gram would always say she is going to be (the next yr). God bless you. Lois

    156
  138. Happy birthday Mary!
I hope you have a lovely day STITCHING whatever makes you happy.
Thanks for all you do for the embroidery community.

    158
  139. A very happy day to you. I think you have your favorite dinner and nice evening of stitching. I like the way you calculated your age. I will use the “I’m only a one day older than yesterday”. My day is coming up, 5/5/44.

    159
  140. Your birthday plans are to sit down with a nice drink, a nice view and having a rummage through all the threads you have that need sorting (‘cos that’s what I intend to do!!).

    161
  141. Happy Birthday!! Ohh I knew immediately what you’re going to do for your 20,000 (more or less) birthday. Flight to England for back room access to the Victoria and Albert, quickie stop in France for threads and accoutrements, followed by lunch and secret tour of Vatican archives with Guiliana, catch up on some zzzz’s on the flight to SA to meet up with Trish for breakfast on the savanna. I would suggest China for some silk… but umm ….we all have orders in that need to be processed and shipped … so back you come Dorothy … er umm ……..

    162
  142. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I love the commercial that says “Age is only a number, and mine is unlisted”.
This is now my standard answer when someone is rude enough to ask my age.
Thanks for all the giveaways and discounts for your birthday.

    163
  143. Happy Days to you Mary!

I must share with you the joy I have had since I found your site. Your projects and enthusiasm for the way art can be expressed in stitches has given me so much happiness. Every project I undertake is now done with your website, examples of and tutorials of stitches is open. Thank you for all your sharing.

    Best, Julia

    164
  144. Birthday plans? How about a small party with friends and family, with lots of champagne and chocolate. Happy Birthday!

    165
  145. Hmmm…I’m guessing birthday plans include coffee, embroidery books or magazines, a few hours of stitching, seeing friends, dining well, and chocolate! All the best for another trip around the sun, and please keep your posts coming–they bring a lot of joy to my day.

    166
  146. I suggest that on your birthday, for diner, you get to choose what you eat and where and for free of course!!! Have a great time on your birthday!

    167
  147. Spending your birthday day with happy customers with maybe a little stitching and then enjoying a lovely dinner and maybe a glass or two of wine with friends and family.
    Happy Birthday!

    168
  148. Birthday plans would be wonderful to have a huge ice cream sundae,,,,,,and a steak dinner

    170
  149. If you are anything like me you will settle down in bed or a comfortable chair with a good book and a beverage of your choice and enjoy the peace and quiet.

    172
  150. Well my ideal birthday would be to take the phone off the hook(now that dates me!) and spend the next however many hours stitching my heart out!!!! Oh and definitely a butler to keep my tea cup and cookie plate full!!!!!

    173
  151. Happy Birthday Mary!
Wishing you joy, peace, good health, and great birthday cake. Cake is a must have for celebrating. To make your special day pamper yourself.. Whether a road trip to explore, a great book, spending time with loved ones… you choose your joy.

    174
  152. Happiest of birthday wishes!!

Birthday plan suggestions are whatever makes your heart sing. Relaxing, stitching, spending time with loved ones, cake and ice cream, listening to the birds calling out birthday wishes to you, and enjoying life.

Enjoy your special day, and thanks for sharing it with us.

    175
  153. I hope that you will be celebrating your birthday with family and with some ‘just for you’ stitching time this week, Mary! Happy 20K+ birthday!! 🙂

    176
  154. Happy Birthday, Mary! You should give yourself WHATEVER you would like. Personally, all I would ever like is a quiet full day just to myself to stitch away!!!

    178
  155. For your Birthday you are having your own little party and having an awesome giveaway! And you don’t look that old!
I would be ecstatic to win anything you are giving away.
Thank you for everything you do. I loved the Stitch Snippets we did last year and I hope you will offer them again. Betty Kingsnorth

    179
  156. The first thought that came to mind for celebrating your birthday was that you would be stitching on something fun, but, you do that every day. So to celebrate I hope you have a nice dinner, that you do not have to cook, with family and friends, lots of laughter and lots of love.

    180
  157. I would say that you are going to go out for a nice dinner and then come back, sit down with a nice new project to start!

    181
  158. A perfect day with no electronic interruptions. Read a book, start a new project, work in the garden – no expectations except your own!

    182
  159. I hope your birthday celebration includes some soothing stitches, tasty treats, and fun with friends! Enjoy the day and all the days that follow!

    183
  160. Hope your one day older is just fabulous. Take a well earned break – give your eyes a rest and have a hand massage and manicure. All that thread takes it out of your hands and eyes, and its good to do something solely for you. It will make you feel rejuvenated.

    184
  161. I suggest having dinner at your favourite restaurant with your favourite people, that is always the best kind of celebration. And of course there should be free cake from the restaurant to finish off the evening. There must be cake.

I have 6000+ days on you!
    All the best,
    Kat

    186
  162. Happy Birthday Mary! Hope your birthday plans include family and friends but also some me-time stitching!!

    187
  163. Happy Birthday!!! I think your birthday plans are (or should be) to buy yourself some beautiful linen to use for an embroidery design you have wanted to make but have put off for far too long.

    188
  164. I think your plans could be a day of doing your personal stitching and lunch or supper( maybe both) with friends or family.I think some chocolates and wine could be involved.

    189
  165. Happy Birthday Mary! I’m guessing your plans are to EAT CAKE and celebrate with friends and family. Enjoy

    190
  166. Happy Birthday Mary!! For your special day, I hope you treat yourself to something tasty – even if it’s a little expensive. Have a bit of bubbly. Wear your favorite clothes ( comfortable ) and stitch something that’s just for fun.
Finish your day with a good book that makes you feel happy. Thank you for all you do for the large stitching community.

    191
  167. I think you should be celebrating your birthday by blowing out 20,000 candles! Is there a Guinness Book entry for how many candles blown out at once? And what size cake would you need to hold 20,000 candles? Hmmm.
Happy to be part of your birthday celebration!
    Kelly

    192
  168. Take the day off, enjoy the sun and a drive in the countryside. Have a cup of your favorite/special tea and a box of macarons.

    193
  169. I’ll bet your birthday plans are to work a full day at the shop, followed by a dinner with family and friends, including ice cream and cake!!!! Enjoy!!!!

    194
  170. Happy Birthday, Mary. I recommend spending your birthday at K-State for a picnic lunch in the beautiful gardens and the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art. Both places are inspirational and comforting to the soul.

    195
  171. I think you will stay home with your Dad and celebrate with cake and ice cream! Happy Birthday and may your day be special.

    196

    Linda Pazdzinski

    200
  174. I hoe your birthday is filled with the things you want to do and not those pesky “have to do’s” that take time away from the want to do’s

    202
  175. I bet you found a dog to walk, pussy willows to pick, daffodils to admire and an ice cream cone to top off a perfect day.

Whatever your birthday brings, enjoy! It’s only one day played but an excuse to celebrate you!!

    And eat ice cream!

    203
  176. Happy birthday Mary and thank you for all the inspiration! I think you should go to your favorite restaurant and eat every dessert on the menu. Then, treat yourself to an online class at royal school of needlework

    208
  181. You are passionate about all forms of the art of hand stitching. You find it relaxing to sit quietly with a favorite project. I believe you may celebrate your special birthday by first making a cup of tasty tea. You then put on the most soothing of your music collections (You love collections!), sit in your favorite chair for embroidering and completely immerse yourself in your art. What a wonderful way to while away the birthday hours. Have a very Merry Unbirthday!

    209
  182. I hope that your birthday is filled with friends, family and fun. Maybe a special meal (that you don’t have to prepare) and some yummy cake. 🙂

    Happy Birthday,
    Kathy

    210
  183. Mary, I think you should work a half-day and then go out for a nice lunch with your co-worker and/or a dear friend. Take the rest of the time to relax, read or stitch what you want.

    211
  184. Re: Suggested Birthday Plans

    219
  191. Ooo! I think you should splurge on that one embroidery treat you have been wanting but were saving for another day. Now is the time! Go for it! And, by the way, happy birthday!

    220
  192. For your celebration, today, (happiest of birthdays!) you must first and foremost EAT CAKE!

A nice dinner with friends is also a good thing! You should promise yourself a trip to the needlework exhibit in Arlington. I do miss Nelly needler lemon tarts and the wonderful stitching!
And you are celebrating with a sale!! Yay!! I just have recently found your site and if I don’t win well I’ll just buy!

    221

LOVE your blog posts. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise—I’ve learned so much from you!

    226
  198. The best birthday present for Mary Corbet would be a day off just to spend on needlework or perhaps a day in a favorite needlework shop in another country. Then again perhaps she would prefer a day with other needlework friends from across the globe, a day of stitching and talking. Lovely ideas, don’t you think?
    Jean

    228
  199. Happy Birthday! I would recommend a day off to work on something totally for your own enjoyment, might not even be stitching!

    229
  200. I am sure you are going to get a mani/pedi followed by a fabulous massage and then, the fait accomplice – a BIG piece of birthday cake =!!! ( and a bit of stitching to top of the day)

    230
  201. Happy day, Mary! I hope you eat something delicious and acquire some novel/longed-for threads.

    231
  202. Happy 20,000th Mary! (By my calculations, I’ve got you ‘beat’ by 8,733….but who’s counting?) I don’t know you well enough to guess how you’ll spend the day, but my idea would be to take a luxurious bath, put on a pot of the tea I save for special occasions, play beautiful music, and stitch all day – except for my furry friend’s needs and playtime. Enjoy your special day!! We never know how many more there may be.

    233
  203. I love your enthusiasm for stitching!

For your birthday, your favorite meal followed by sitting in your favorite chair with a new embroidery book, threads and fabric for the next project. Stitching away with a small interruption for a huge bowl of chocolate ice cream!

Happiest of birthdays as you being the journey through the twenty-thousands!

    234

    Sue
    xx

    239
  209. Birthday plans should include a visit to your favorite places either actual or virtual to find inspiration for your soul. The journey should include your people of heart.
    Happy Birthday!!

    240
  210. I’m guessing you work on an embroidery project and enjoy a tasty meal! Possibly with friends or family. Happy birthday!

    241
  211. For your birthday, I hope you get together with all of your loved ones for a nice party, including dinner, drinks and music. And to make it perfect, meet up with busloads of stitchers from Needle n Thread on Facebook for a mega session stitching, enjoying sunshine outside.

    242
  212. Mary: put your feet up and enjoy a warm hand massage to soothe those fingers and wrists. Perhaps a neck and shoulder massage to go with it and a big box of chocolates! Happy birthday to you and many many more !
    Deb H

    244
  213. Happy, Happy Birthday to you! I hope you will have a relaxing day of doing only what you wish – and a lovely cake.

    247
  214. LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog ( especially your “how to” videos on stitches. Also LOVE (etc) the products you sell, especially your patterns and kits. I can’t get enough of them. AND I especially treasure the advice you provide.

I think your best birthday day would be peace and quiet without any deadlines. Just your favorite music playing and a beautiful and colorful embroidery to doodle.

    248
  215. Happy Birthday Mary
I think you’ll go out to dinner and then come home and relax and do some fun stitching

    249
  216. My birthday plans guess is one that hopefully includes cake!!!!! I believe it is illegal to pass up opportunities for cake 😉
And of course you need people to help eat the cake.

    251
  217. Mary – Happy 20,000th Birthday! If you’re like me, you’re not much on big celebrations. My husband and I usually go out for a quiet dinner – or not. Sometimes he just cooks me a special dinner at home. Either way, I’m happy. I hope you have an equally enjoyable – for you – day.

    252
  218. Happy birthday, Mary!! Hope it’s a great day! I think that on your birthday you will go to Mass, stitch a little and have a nice dinner with friends or family.

    253
  219. I think you would celebrate your birthday with a nice tea and shortcake, followed by a warm, cozy nap and then zinging back into your lovely stitch work!

    254
  220. Enjoy some solitude in a beautiful natural space: forest, water, sky, flowers, whatever you most enjoy for respite and inspiration. Enjoy!

    255
  221. Happy birthday, Mary! I imagine you gathering a crowd of friends for a group stitching session, followed by browsing through new needlework books, followed by eating some (lots!?) of cake.

    259
  222. Suggestion for birthday celebration: a special lunch ordered by your crew of one and delivered to the shop.

Dinner this evening with family and or friends at your favorite restaurant complete with birthday cake and ice cream!

    260
  223. That’s so funny 20,000 days old. I’m close to the same age as you, but my husband informs me I’m closer to 22,000 I have never thought of my age in those terms. Does this mean I can have a birthday everyday? Sounds good to me, (ya hoo, cake every day!) For your birthday I can not guess? I would love to go to an all day spa, massage’s, mani-pedi, hot rocks, mud bath, facials, hair color and style. A make up consultation with a shopping trip for a new outfit. Wow doesn’t that sound fun. Maybe not your cup of tea, what ever you do have a great birthday!
    Sincerely Yours
    Sandy Lowe

  224. Happy Birthday Mary,
My wish for you is to go to your favorite restaurant for dinner with family and friends to celebrate to special person you are… then treat your self to a needle work something you have been drooling over!

    Kind regards,
    Gail

    263
  225. Happy Birthday Mary! I hope you have a wonderful day. I would guess that you are going to do a bit of fun stitching, spend time with your family, and enjoy a piece of birthday cake.

    264
  226. Maybe buy some flowers, take time to arrange them in a pretty vase, put your fave music on and drift away to your favourite place in your imagination.

    265
  227. I would think that sleeping in would start your day followed by breakfast in bed. A family dinner followed by traditional cake and ice cream. Happy birthday!!

    266
  228. Happy Birthday Mary! I hope you are enjoying an embroidered birthday cake.

    Best Wishes!

    267
  229. Happiest of ‘Happy Birthdays’ to you, Mary!
I suggest a long leisurely soak in the bathtub and then a luncheon with friends at a lovely restaurant you have never been to before. The evening will, of course, been given over to needlework while you listen to a new audiobook.
Whatever you DO decide to do today I hope it brings you much joy!

    268
  230. Hopefully your having a party at the shop followed by a lovely dinner out at your favorite restaurant.

    270
  231. Happy Birthday, Mary! I just checked the weather in your area and I hope you will try to enjoy some time outside in the sun (with a hat and sunscreen, of course). Other than that, some quiet stitching time and perhaps dinner out with family would be great! Whatever your real plans are, I hope you have a lovely day. Judi

    271
  232. Happiest of Birthday Wishes Mary! May your year be graced by beautiful stitches and fun new discoveries.
Thank you for supplying splashes of stitching joy to brighten our uncertain world these days.
    ❤️Sara

    272
  233. Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy your day with good food, good friends, and lots of happiness!

    273
  234. Can you guess what my birthday plans are?
I’m thinking that you are going to do some fun stitching that just makes you smile and later in the day enjoy a glass of wine and birthday cake. Really! Who doesn’t like a slice of cake!

    274
  235. Take a walk and notice all the early blooming plants. Check the birds that have migrated. Celebrate having made it to another birthday and another spring.

    275
  236. I think that you should celebrate your birthday by flying to Paris to view The Unicorn Tapestries in the Cluny Museum. If you’re going to dream, dream big!
    Suzanne

    276
  237. My favorite treat for my birthday is going out to eat with family. Have a happy day!

    278
  238. Happy birthday to you and to me on Sunday, and my sister, on Monday, my niece on Wednesday, and my brother on April 1. My family really celebrates in April.

You will finish a long awaited project.

    279
  239. Happy Birthday Enjoy some stitchin’, a nice walk, a good dinner with family and/or friends and a good soak in the tub before bed. Hope you have a fabulous day!

    280
  240. Happy Birthday Mary! (mine’s a bit later in the month…)

Hopefully you’re having a day free of work (well apart from the blog …) and are planning a lovely day out with friends, with lunch (and a drink or two?), followed perhaps by some stitching (for pleasure not work) and a party this evening.

Hope you have a lovely day.
    Lena x

    283
  241. Happy belated birthday. I suggest you make yourself some free relaxing time to do some of your favourite stitching. Then, go out with a good friend and have a nice meal followed perhaps by a show you have meant to go and see for a long long time, but never made time for! You deserve it.

    284
  242. I hope your birthday plans involve a lovely meal, warm sunshine, and a comfy chair to stitch in.

    Happy Birthday!

    285
  243. What would be so fun? Being treated to a special lunch, catered, with your favorite foods, plus a wonderful cake to share, vanilla with raspberry swirls topped with a buttercream frosting.

The meal is accompanied with a round of “Happy Birthday” and a gift certificate, (maybe you give this one to yourself) for a massage.

    All delightful.

    286
  244. I’m guessing that your birthday plans would be to have a totally free day in which you are allowed to drink tea and stitch on whatever you want to your heart’s desire. That is also what I would suggest that you do on your day.
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you.

    288
  245. Happy Birthday to you, Mary! And wishing you many more happy days ahead. If not for you, I would not be enjoying embroidery like I do. I learned everything from you. Thank you so very much!

    289
  246. Mary, Happy Birthday to you!

I hope you have a relaxing day having lunch with your friends and dinner with your family!
Thank you for all you do for the embroidery community❣️
    Hilary Norris

    290
  247. I think Miss Mary will leave work, buy a pastry, go home, brew a cup of tea, put on her jammies, sit in her favorite chair, cuddle up in her afghan, turn on her audible book and embroider to her heart’s content knowing how happy she makes her followers!
    Have the best birthday,
    Becky

    291
  248. Happy birthday Mary and many more to come. I think you will celebrate your birthday surrounded by your much loved family & friends

    292
  249. Doing for your birthday? Straightening your work space because having a lovely and organized work space is a gift to yourself; spending some time in the sun; and having a scrumptious dinner with loved ones.

    293
  250. “Can you guess what my birthday plans are?”

I’m guessing you’ll spend time with family as they celebrate you! Or, if you like solitude, perhaps go on a walk with Mother Nature. It’s grey and raining here in Oregon today, so embroidery is an always a great activity, with a good cup of tea by my side and my cat on my lap. And I always love a good walk with Mother Nature, evening if it’s raining (lightly!). Happy Birthday!

    294
  251. Hmmmm….well, part of your birthday will be relaxing with embroidery and reading embroidery books. The bigger part of your vacation will be traveling with a friend to Las Vegas to see scantily-clad men dancing!!

    296
  252. I think you should have a nice dinner out with your family. Happy birthday! Thank you for celebrating with us!

    297
  253. Mary – A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!! Maybe a lovely dinner at your favorite restaurant and then some time to embroider whatever you love might be a nice way to celebrate.
Thanks for all your instructions, inspirations and information over the years. You’re the best!!!
    Best wishes!
    Judy Fuller

    298
  254. Happy birthday! And many happy returns!
I hope that your birthday plans include eating delicious cake ( wondering what your favorite is!), delightful friends, and loving family.
    Cheers!

    299
  255. Hummm…. Take the day off, read, sleep, stitch and stay in your jammie’s all day, have a margarita to celebrate your one day older birthday.

    300
  256. Hope you have a very happy birthday! I hope you celebrate with a bright cheery cake with your family. And I expect you to spend some quality time stitching on a project that makes you happy on your special day – especially if you have reached the age of 20,000.

    301
  257. Sending you wishes for a very happy day! The perfect day may be to share a wonderful meal and a decadent dessert with family and friends.

    302
  258. Going out for a special dinner is always my choice. Happy birthday fellow April birthday ( mine is in two days.)

    303
  259. Spend you birthday by stitching all day and going to your favorite restaurant for dinner.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY,

    304
  260. You will sip some tea, using a fabulous embroidered cocktail napkin under the saucer which you’ll admire while stitching up that WIP that you’ve been meaning to get back to. Then you’ll take a little nap, resting your head on a petite point pillow. Finally you’ll dress in an embroidered evening gown and entertain your closest lovies with a special candlelight supper served with fine china set on a tablecloth richly sewn in silk and gold. Afterwards you’ll open gifts, each containing an exquisite little skein of thread, a thimble or perhaps a pair of gilded scissors. Happy Birthday!

    305
  261. Have a wonderful birthday, celebrating with Family, Friends and Customers, not forgetting eat cake. My very best wishes for the year ahead to be healthy and happy.

    309
  262. I suggest having your favorite dessert at lunch and dinner with a left over serving saved for your morning coffee the next day!

Enjoy the day and thanks so much for all you share with us!

    310
  263. Enjoy your birthday! Perhaps a trip to a special place or shop at your favourite store. Of course celebrate surrounded by loved ones.

    311
  264. Birthday plans: Feet up in fuzzy slippers in a comfy chair — stitching the day away on a project for yourself! Enjoy every minute!

    313
  265. Here’s wishing you a very, very happy birthday with a cartload of thanks for all the pleasurable hours you’ve giving me reading your blogs and articles and stitching.
I imagine you spending part of your birthday stitching in your studio and the rest walking around gazing at spring flowers and budding trees, enjoying the songs and activities of birds. And then there’s a nice quiet but chatty dinner with family and friends including a home made birthday cake decorated with a stitchy design.
    Enjoy!

    314
  266. I would suggest any place you can relax and just do your favorite thing. Mine is always some place shady on a pretty beach with beautiful water. It clears my mind and I can read or stitch for hours. A few hours of your favorite place is a perfect birthday.

    315
  267. If it were my birthday, I’d spend the day working on projects that I’ve been wanting to stitch. That’s all I’d do, just stitch.

    316
  268. Happy Birthday , by whatever scale you measure. I think I’m at 25,000 on the “BirthDay-O-Meter”.
I’m thinking you’d love a tea party in a glorious garden that inspired the colors of the thread bouquet. Alive with music from gatherers/makers of that luscious wax.
Whatever you do enjoy your day!

    317
  269. I’m guessing that you’ll have a day and night away at a cabin in nature where you can have a quiet dinner and then stitch all night on a comfy couch with your favorite person nearby.

    318
  270. Happy birthday! My husband threw me a 10,000 days old party years ago, it was adorable and fun (and confused everyone who thought they knew when my birthday was!!).

    319
  271. I would suggest a lovley relaxing day, perhaps doing a little stitching. Dinner with family and friends. Enjoy!

    321
  272. Happy Birthday to you. This is my month to celebrate also. How old 25550. My plans are a mani pedi with a friend and then joining a couple more friends at our favorite Southern seafood restaurant. My suggestion is to spend it with friend and family for they make everyday a celebration!

    322
  273. Happy Birthday, Mary! How about a whole day to yourself, stitching on whatever strikes your fancy, not work related!

    323
  274. I would choose a nice dinner with friends and some family and then a quiet time stitching in my “chair”.

    324
  275. I think your plans are stitching what you actually want to. My birthday plan would be settling in with some new stitchy books and a glass or two of wine or something else. Happy birthday to you

    325
  276. I hope that your Birthday plans include some hand stitching outside, with a glass of wine and snacks!

    326
  277. My suggestion for your birthday would be a leisurely trip around the world. You would be given your Visa to all of the countries that contain fabulous and colorful fabrics, threads, needles, scissors, ribbons, etc. You would fly first class, and when you arrive, you would be whisked away by limousine to some of the greatest hotels that exist. Your shopping would be endless, and all paid for in advance! You would celebrate your birthday at the finest restaurants, with views of oceans, mountains, deserts and forests with lush greenery and flowing waterfalls. And when you finally returned home….all of your precious purchases would be there waiting for you…..to share with your loving friends…..THAT WOULD BE ME!!! GET GOING!!!!!
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRIN……

    327
  278. Happy birthdays and blessings for the whole year. To celebrate write down five things you really would like to do, ie. put your feet in the sand and drink a mojito. ( No beach? Buy a bag at Home Depot, and put it a container big enough for your toes!) How about putting on a pretty dress, pour a drink and watch a romantic movie? Choice 3 put on your comfy jammies and read a good book. #4 put on your walking shoes and go downtown and window shop. 5th make sure your friends know its your birthday and tell them where you want to go to dinner.

    328
  279. Happy birthday, Mary! I imagine your birthday plans might include stitching, and a slice of cake or something equally delicious.

    329
  280. Well! Happy birthday to you! My guess is that you will celebrate your special day with your family, somewhere quiet and relaxing, with some of the day spent alone for extra special TLC, and a delicious cake for extra indulgence! Hopefully you enjoy the time….and that you let us know exactly what you did do to celebrate you!

    330
  281. Your birthday plans might include a day away from the shoppe, a nice warm bubble bath, dinner out with friends, and a nice glass of wine! Your shoppe looks so festive with the balloons!
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mary!

    332
  282. Happy Birthday! You will spend some time doing what you love, stitching for fun. Maybe enjoy a nice dinner and some delightful cake

    333
  283. Birthday plans: filling orders? Organizing the back room? Going for a long walk? Happy birthday!

    334
  284. My birthday today too. Hope you’re enjoying the day with some stitching time on something fun. That’s what I’m planning.

    335
  285. Happy birthday Mary. I hope you are having a great day filled with love and tons of joy.
Thank you for teaching, transmitting and sharing your love for colors, and threads, thank you for giving us this pinch of something else that brights our days…
from this side of the ocean,
    Tiphaine

    336
  286. My guess would be you’ll celebrate with dinner with family – and hopefully end with a sinfully delicious cake or dessert of your choice.

    337
  287. Being over 25000, I am trying to rid my house of excess stuff. I would like to start a tradition of giving away something on my birthday to my descendants. (Embroidery stuff is not included.)
However, we always had the tradition of the birthday person got to have whatever they wanted for their birthday dinner. When my daughters were young, we had some very interesting meals – lobster and hotdogs (at the same dinner), boxed mac and cheese with no vegetables (I still ate some), and Girl Scout stew (Yuck!)

    338
  288. Happy Birthday Mary:
I love all your stitching and the way you put the colors together.
Thank you for sharing in your birthday celebration by having a give away with such great prizes.
    Happy stitchin, Edna

    339
  289. For a Birthday celebration I would suppose you would have a quite day of stitching and a cup of tea.

    340
  290. Happy Birthday, Mary!!!!

I would hope that you are going doing whatever YOU want to do! A suggestion, since our weather seems have turned for the present (I’m in mid-Oklahoma) – I would take a portable project that is singing to you, and go find a lovely spot of dappled sunshine to enjoy!

    Hugs, Aubrey

    342
  291. Happy Birthday Mary!

My birthday is this week too, I think I might answer in days just to confuse people :o) — plans I think maybe you’ll visit with family, stitch personal stitching, and have a nice rest in the hammock or just make brownies, yum.

    343
  292. I’m terrible at guessing, but my favorite way to celebrate a birthday (and my suggestion) is spending time outside, enjoying the beauty of God’s creation—hiking, strolling, picnicking, soaking up sunshine and spring scents amid bird song. Alternatively, if the weather isn’t cooperative, go to a performance of beautiful music. (I’m taking my husband to the symphony this week to celebrate his birthday because I’m recovering from an ankle injury and can’t hike.)

    344
  293. Happy birthday! I think a perfect birthday would be loads of time spent stitching, with a little break for a favorite meal with family & friends.

    345
  294. Happy birthday! Enjoy a “just for fun” embroidery project and maybe a nice dinner with family!

    346
  295. Settle in front of your TV with a needlework project, set it to play your favorite costume drama, prepare your favorite beverage and snack that does not mess up your fingers. Then relax for a personal birthday treat. This always works for me.

    347
  296. FIRST OF ALL- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I THINK YOU WILL HAVE A QUIET DIINER FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY PLANS.

    348
  297. Happy birthday Mary, I will celebrate mine on Thursday. I am a year younger today, a year older on Thursday and in my next year on Friday. Oh what’s in an age, only numbers and it’s what you feel in the heart. Have a great day.
    God bless and love,
    Carol. X

    350
  298. Happy Birthday!! Birthday plans should always include cake and ice cream. Treat yourself to that at a quiet elegant restaurant. Follow up with a quiet walk in a park enjoying the Spring flowers.

    351
  299. Happy Birthday Mary! I fully comprehend that you really only feel a day older, because that is what you are! If I were to guess your birthday plans, I suspect that you might enjoy dinner with your family. (Maybe they plan on birthday cake and the works!) I do hope you have a wonderful day!

    352
  300. Happy and Blessed Birthday wishes! Will you be spending your birthday with friends and family and celebrating by eating cake, reflecting on the past year and planning on stitching ideas for next year?
I hope you have sunshine and roses and lots of chocolate! ☀️Nora

    353
  301. Can you guess what my birthday plans are? Ok, if you’d rather, you’re welcome to suggest some birthday plans (but please keep it nice!).

Your probably stitching something beautiful! But you should also find a nice restaurant with outdoor seating and have a giant piece of chocolate cake (if that’s your thing) and a nice glass of wine, then go dancing!

    354
  302. Happy Birthday!! With Needlenthread.com there is always something great to celebrate! Happy stitching!

    355
  303. Happy Birthday! I think you will go out to eat followed by some stitching. The weather is perfect in Kansas for whatever you do!

    356
  304. Happy birthday, Mary! I would suggest a lovely dinner followed by an evening playing cards or board games. And birthday cake & iced cream!

    357
  305. I hope you have great birthday plans including some stitching time and delicious food.

    358
  306. I would guess you are going to work all day,,,then go home and work some more. I woukd suggest to at least order out from your favorite restaurant. Happy Birthday. You are a day older than yesterday.

    359
  307. My guess is that you may go to a textile museum, buy a beautiful tapestry, then indulge in strawberries and cream. Happy birthday!

    360
  308. Happy Birthday!
I hope you enjoy many happy returns on the day.
It seems that relationships, your people, are very important to you so my guess is you will spend time with your peeps.
Thank you for all the beauty you create and inspire.
    Sincerely,
    Susan

    362
  309. Happy birthday! You will go out to dinner? My birthday was yesterday, and I know two other people whose birthday is today.

    365
  310. You’ll be having a really nice meal with friends and family. Happy Birthday!

    366
  311. Dinner w family & friends where everyone signs one of your embroidered table clothrs
    Happy B-Day!

    367
  312. Happy Birthday Lovely Lady! I enjoy your website so very much! I have been sewing embroidery for many years but I still am learning new tricks from you. Enjoy your day. I hope your weather is getting warmer. Here in Virginia we enjoyed some nice warm weather earlier but today it is 41 degrees but feels like 26 degrees with the winds. Pat Dean

    368
  313. If I was like you, a stitcher, designer, shop owner, teacher, I would do something completely different from my normal routine. I would watch a silly movie with friends, laugh, eat popcorn, have cupcakes and ice cream & laugh some more. Its good for the soul to let loose sometimes and forget your normal world. Happy Birthday !!!

    369
  314. I hope you plan to have a birthday dinner with close friends, perhaps with some yummy adult beverages.

    371
  315. Happy birthday! Part of me hopes that you’re going to go out to dinner somewhere lovely, but the introverted part of me wonders if you’d be more comfortable celebrating quietly at home. Either way, I hope you have a wonderful day!

    372
  316. Your birthday will start with a hot cup of coffee and a nice warm croissant. There will be time for just for fun stitching. Not work stitching but just for me stitching. Maybe a bunny rabbit or some pretty flowers. Dinner will be with family and close friends ending with chocolate cake.
    Happy Birthday, Diane

    373
  317. Happiest of birthdays to you! Definitely enjoy birthday cake, time alone and time with family. My birthday is Thursday and I plan to brew a cup of tea, put on some music and stitch! When the new cross stitch towels come out, that will be my birthday present to myself.

    374
  318. Dear Mary
Happy Birthday! I am celebrating mine in 2 days!
Your giveaways sound delicious. Thank you for sharing these items and the bio sale as well! Keeping my fingers crossed crossed that I might be lucky!

    375
  319. I do hope that you have a lovely birthday! I would hope that you get to start your festivities with a glass of sparkling…… if not, be assured I will think of you as I enjoy a glass with my husband while we are on our mini vacation! Back to you though…perhaps going out to dinner would be a great way to celebrate, someone else to cook and do the dishes! After dinner, time to open that little box with a bow…maybe earrings with a bit of sparkle or a pair of tiny antique embroidery scissors (you cant have too many)! Many wishes to you on your birthday and wishing you many more! From one of your followers! Janis

    376
  320. A bit of stitching and the company of family/friends, a bit (or a bite) of cake and something bubbly to drink
Either a guess or a suggestion

    377
  321. Happy 20,000th Birthday to you! You’ve had a tremendous year full of new adventures, so today should be a true celebration for you! I think I would suggest a lovely dinner out – someplace you’ve never, ever been before. Take a walk if the weather’s pretty. Reflect on yesterday and plan for tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and a healthy, happy year ahead.

    378
  322. Happy Birthday. Here is how I like to celebrate any big occasion –
Go to my favorite restaurant (The Grill)
with my favorite person (you, if you are in town)
dine on steak, potatoes and red wine, get a large one, but share because…
Chocolate bread pudding with Ice-creams, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and a cherry for dessert.

    379
  323. Make yourself a nice pot of tea, find a nice comfy chair and sit down with your favorite stitching project and have fun. Oh, turn on some nice music first. Enjoy.

    381
  324. Happy one day older. My husband adds the numbers together (he is now supposed to be 13). I prefer your method. Love all your shares. I’m quite sure you will be doing some wonderful embroidery project for your birthday.

    384
  325. Happy, happy birthday to you, Mary! I think a nice, hot soak with a good bath product, followed by dinner out with friends and family, and a good bottle of wine would be the perfect way to celebrate.

I love the idea of 20,000 days, give or take. I’m just ahead of you with 21,500, give or take. So, here’s to another 14,000, give or take!

Cheers to you on your big day!

    385
  326. I think you’ll go to dinner and a show! Movie or live theater. Then home for champagne and chocolate. (Well, that’s what *I* would do if it were my birthday.) Congratulations on your latest trip around the sun.

    386
  327. Happy Birthday Mary. I hope you have a blessed day. I’m guessing you will have a wonderful lunch with Anna at the shop that will include a cup cake with a candle for a special wish and then a special dinner with your dad and any other family and friends that live in the area with an angel food cake. The angel food cake is my favorite so I hope it’s also yours. Enjoy the day. Thanks for all you do. Tracy

    387
  328. Happy Birthday. What could be better than being with friends, putting your feet up with a nice mug of something and stitching on something that speaks to your heart. I wish you joy and thank you for your work.

    389
  329. I think for your Birthday you might go out for a nice meal and have cake for dessert! : ) Maybe pick up some nice yarn or thread and then maybe relax and have a play with your new stitching items. : ) Happy Birthday, love how you are saying how old you are now…..I’m some 22,ooo plus days old as well, LOL : )

    391
  330. Hi Mary,

I think you would enjoy a quiet day of your own. No, taking care of anyone but yourself.

I wish you a very Happy Birthday.

    Melinda

    392
  331. Birthday plans: late breakfast involving a mimosa made with fresh squeezed orange juice. A visit to a gallery or museum specifically for a needlework exhibit.
Lunch of that one dish you never make for yourself. A hand massage.

    393
  332. When you belong to a big, local family, certain things are written in blood. One of them is: Every birthday is celebrated en mass! (That’s how I grew up, but now the younger generations have moved away, so we don’t have these parties anymore.)

So, Mary, my “guess” is that somewhere, somehow, you’re getting together with family for – at least – a lovely cake that somebody made for you.

    Enjoy!

    395
  333. Hi Mary!
Hoping you have a contented day with the satisfaction of making progress on the next project. Then this evening have dinner with loved ones. Joy and peace are exactly what we are all needing right now.
    My best to you!

    396
  334. Happy Birthday! I hope you are stitching on your birthday, and someone is taking you to dinner. That is what I like to do.

    397
  335. Hi Mary!

I imagine you taking your day to spend with children. I see you going to amusement parks, a children’s movie, and then you ditch the children and have a wonderful night out to dinner with someone special. You close your evening with a cup of tea and your embroidery, of course!

Happy Happy Day, Mary. Even if your birthday is very different from what I imagine for you, I hope it’s just the best birthday ever!

    398
  336. Happy Birthday. Tomorrow is my half birthday because my birthday is October 9.

Stitch on some fun project and have a nice birthday meal with family. Maybe purchase something special for yourself.

    399
  337. Happy Birthday Mary! I am guessing you will be stitching or reading a book. Hope you can find time to celebrate at dinner. All my best, Kim

  338. Happy Birthday Mary!!
I’m sure you’ll find time for a little stitching, probably have some cake and ice cream with friends and then do a little more stitching. ENJOY YOUR DAY!!

    401
  339. HappyBirthday! Your bday plans will include getting yourself something special that you’ve thot about for awhile, but up until now, have felt you shouldn’t splurge. Today’s the Day!

    402
  340. Hmmm, birthday plans….are you going to have a nice dinner with loved ones, take a walk before sunset, and then work on a project you’re excited about under some excellent light?
    Happy birthday!!

    406
  341. I would hope for your birthday that you would go to your favorite restaurant with friends and/or family and enjoy a wonderful meal and conversation. Hopefully that will be a nice birthday cake for dessert.

    407
  342. I think that you will treat yourself to some quiet moments reading through some beautiful needlework books with a cup of tea or coffee and a treat of chocolate too.

    408
  343. Suggestion: go out to dinner at your favorite restaurant. Be sure to get a special treat for dessert. When you come home, watch The White Lotus on Max.

    409
  344. For my birthday, New Years Eve I always want peace and quiet, but that’s me. Early dinner with all my kids and grands and then early night with my husband. Incidentally, my birthday is also the day we met.

For your birthday, maybe some garden plans, not sure what your weather is, but I’d want to look forward to warmer weather. Stitch some flowers, plan a garden bed – buy new pretty, bright supplies!

Whatever you do, I hope sincerely that you enjoy being 20000, or so!

    Happy Birthday

    410
  345. This Teresa wishes you a very blessed birthday! On this very special day, you are given permission to pick a WIP (work in progress) and decide you don’t really WANT to work on it. And then don’t. Give it away or throw it away or frame it as is & announce it is ok to not finish every project.

Then cuz it’s your birthday, spend the day playing with your threads however you want!

Anna is amazing!! What a festive look!!

    411
  346. Happy Birthday! Your mileage may vary depending on frequency of usage, type of fuel used, road and weather conditions, and regularly scheduled maintenance. Here’s to many more!

    412
  347. Considering you have lots. Of relatives in the area I’d imagine there will be a birthday party in the offing.

    414
  348. Order your most favorite cake from the best bakery in your area. Pick up your favorite foods. I would go with extra good steaks, salad, etc. Invite your most favorite people over to your house to cook out. Simple & relaxed.

Happy Birthday! Hope it is the best.

    415
  349. I think you will go to dinner at one your sisters’ houses and eat cake made by a niece.

    416
  350. On your birthday maybe you will be going to a needle craft show with your best stitching friends and they out to a birthday lunch. Hopefully you will receive some beautiful flowers and the birds will be singing giving you inspiration for new projects. Also , sure hope someone makes you your favorite birthday cake!!!

I so love watching your stitching videos. They are the BEST. I wish you a very Happy Birthday.

    417
  351. You are going to your shop as usual and do your very favorite thing, stitch. Then go out to lunch with your best friends. Back to stitching. And then out to dinner with more friends and family and, of course, opening gifts and eat birthday cake. Then fall into bed with a good book.

    Happy birthday!

    418
  352. Oooh, trying to predict your birthday plans is tough – perhaps visiting a museum with some particularly excellent embroidery in its collection? And then I hope that you follow what I did for my birthday (which was yesterday, we’re nearly birthday twins!): get some excellent food. I went for waffles with my roommate, and got one with raspberries, lemon curd, ice cream and whipped cream on top, and I hope you get something just as delightful!

    419
  353. Perhaps visiting a gallery or historical display or museum that features embroidery pieces? That would be a fun way to celebrate a birthday!

    420
  354. Bet you will sit in your rocking chair with a lovely cup of something and work on your latest project uninterrupted.

    422
  355. Happy Birthday!
Have a joyful day and a wonderful year!
I’ll bet you will spend the day embroidering something beautiful or doing something related to the art and craft of embroidery.
    Best Wishes!
    Rita

    424
  356. Hello & Happy Birthday! Wishing you and all stitchers time and energy for embroidery.

    425
  357. Love all of you work. I’ve done several of your patterns and looking forward to doing more.

    Happy birthday

    426
  358. I’m guessing that your birthday plans include dinner with family, and they’re making your favorite meal including dessert.

    428
  359. I hope that you get to enjoy the outdoors on your birthday and of course to enjoy a special meal in a favorite restaurant or to try a new restaurant.

    430
  360. While i am terrible at guessing, I would recommend having someone else cook you dinner lol

    431
  361. My idea of a perfect birthday is to be able to stitch or knit with no interruptions whatsoever. Wishing you a wonderful birthday doing whatever you find a perfect birthday.

    433
  362. Birthday suggestion – It’s not a birthday without too much chocolate cake.

I’ve got Tatiana Popova’s Crewel Embroidery fairy tales book. I don’t love all of what she does, but she’s so creative, and she really encourages stitchers to be creative, to make projects their own. I mimic and adapt some of her elements, so her outlines with my colors and stitching are indeed my own.

    435
  363. Happy Birthday! Hope someone honors your 20,000 natal day by cooking your favorite dinner AND cleans the kitchen–or takes you out to that Very Expensive new ethnic restaurant that has rave reviews 😉
My 70th is May 1, for a year I have been battling cancer and I’m in dire need of embroidery inspiration!

    436
  364. Happy Birthday. My guess is that you will be working on your hexies. We haven’t seen anything of them for a long time.

    438
  365. Happy Birthday Mary! I already know at least part of your birthday celebration plan: you are having a Hobbit Birthday Celebration because you are giving gifts to others! What a lovely gesture. Thanks so much!

    Kelly Darpinian

    439
  366. Happy Birthday Mary. I just had a birthday last month… my 81st and yes I still stitch on 36-40 count fabrics. How should you celebrate? Well, if it was me I would go to my most favorite restaurant with my daughter, sister and best friend (you choose your dining companions) and have my most favorite meal with an excellent glass of Pinot Grigio. That is my recommendation. Then I’d go home and stitch as long as I could stay awake.
Have an excellent year with health, success, prosperity and lots of time to enjoy your Needle N’ Thread talent and stitching.

    440
  367. I Just had a birthday on march 31. I celebrated by taking a theorem painting class with my friends. Maybe you could Learn a new craft for your birthday! I also am not revealing how old I am, ha ha! Happy birthday to you!

    441
  368. The best way to end the day on your birthday – a long soak in a lavender scented bath.
    Happy Birthday to You!

    442
  369. Happy Birthday Mary!! I hope that for your special day you’ll be celebrating with cake and needle and thread. That is, eating some yummy cake (and ice cream?) and then having a fun time embroidering your special project, whatever it may be. You don’t want any cake mixed up with your thread. Have a Fabulous Day celebrating you!

    443
  370. A nice family brunch with presents and cake, then a lovely nap in a hammock under a shade tree.
    Happy Birthday !!

    444
  371. I hope you are having a very happy birthday, doing whatever makes you happy today. Maybe some thread fondling, or linen unpacking, or going out for a nice meal.

    445
  372. I think you will wake up on your birthday, Have a very special breakfast with family. Hang out in your shop during the sale and then go out to a wonderful restaurant and splurge on your favorite foods. Then enjoy a some birthday cake and home and take some time to do some embroidery! Happy Birthday!

    446
  373. Happy birthday, Mary! I think you’ll be sipping champagne, munching on not too messy cookies, and reading a favorite stitchery book.

    447
  374. I suspect you might spend part of the day stitching but I hope you will be able to celebrate with friends. Cake and laughter.
Wishing you a wonderful day whatever you plan!!!

    448
  375. My guess: lunch and cake with one or more friends, and then home to play with the fancy embroidery-related present you’ve bought for yourself while drinking a nice cup of tea and eating some chocolates. Happy birthday!

    449
  376. As it is my birthday also, maybe you would like to celebrate with a game of mini golf and then lunch at the Waterftont restaurant in beautiful Hervey Bay, Queensland! Happy Birthday Mary. Just another day, and hopefully many more.

    450
  377. A party centered on that beautifully decorated work area would be spot on!
Family, friends and food, combined with your favourite interest.

    452
  378. A great big Happy Birthday to you! I hope your birthday plans include some stitching you’ve always wanted to do.

    453
  379. For your birthday spend it with family and friends, having a good natter over food.

    456
  380. I think you will embroider a birthday cake on felt! Have a wonderful celebration!

    457
  381. Hi, I’m sure your birthday will involve family and food. Possibly work on some very special project and watching a sports game of some sort. How ever you plan to spend the day I wish you all the happiness in the world possible for your birthday. I do so enjoy your posts. They used to be my morning tea reading when I was working, now I am retired they are my breakfast reading to start the day. Rose

    458
  382. Birthday plans/ideas? First, stitch! Fun stitching, something that YOU want to do, for yourself, on your special day. Second, have someone else do the dishes. Third, eat cake and ice cream. LOTS of ice cream. Okay, maybe that’s what I would do, but you did ask for suggestions. Anyhow, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    459
  383. Happy Birthday, Mary! I imagine that you have so much “work” stitching, that you don’t have much time for “fun” stitching. I hope that you have a nice meal with friends and family, a big slice of cake and maybe a few minutes for fun stitching!

    460
  384. A nice dinner out with cake and ice cream back at the house with friends/family!

    461
  385. Mary,

You should go on a Stitching Cruise around the English Isles!!! That would be so much fun.

    462
  386. Whatever you do, it would probably include your Dad and other family. Happy Birthday, Mary! God bless you for all the joy you spread in the world with your wit and talents. May He bless you with many, many more 20,000s!

    463
  387. A lovely birthday celebration would be going to your favorite restaurant ordering whatever your heart desires with a fine glass of wine.

    464
  388. My guess as to Mary’s birthday celebration is that she eats a favorite meal and spends most of the day stitching on a project for herself, not for sale or blog purposes.

    466
  389. I think that for your birthday you should indulge in WHATEVER makes you happy! Be it work or play — or shopping! haha diving into a book. planning a NEW embroidery project. Just BE HAPPY!

    467
  390. I Know what my birthday plans would be.Even though I guess that I am a bit older than you,I would go to a favorite restaurant (one that I only go to for special occasions) and have my favorite special occasion food plus chocolate cake and pistachio ice cream. Or,if there is a play or concert that night, treat myself to that instead.

    468
  391. My guess is that your birthday plans include a gathering with your family, and, if you are lucky, having a bit of time to try out a new gadget, floss, or stitch that has no immediate connection to your work.

Not sure what your weather is like, but on my birthday last weekend nearby Gloucester had its annual Daffodil Festival complete with parade, booths, and bounce areas for the kids. Hope something like that is coming your way soon.

    469
  392. Happy birthday Mary!!!!! I imagine your family will celebrate your birth by either taking you out for dinner or cooking at home with cake of course!! You’re always a bright ray of sunshine Mary, no negativity and I like that a lot.

    471
  393. I would hope that you would be able to have a lovely dinner with family and/or friends to celebrate your special day! Relationships are most important and bring us happiness and joy-especially on special days such as your Birthday!
Best wishes for a Happy Day!
    Shelley

    472
  394. Happy Birthday – You probably will be wearing something you made, then you have plans to meet friends and family at a local favorite restaurant and order your favorite meal then treat yourself with a wonderful chocolate cake. Afterwards you will continue the celebration at a nearby pub for drinks and jokes around the table. Afterall, being 20,000 years old, you probably have been there – done that in your long life. The next morning you will be back in your shop stitching something that inspired you on your birthday. Best wishes – Ki in West Virginia

    473
  395. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful and special day. I’m guessing there will be some stitching involved – perhaps something for you rather than something work-related. Also cake and a drink of bubbles, would be my suggestion!

    474
  396. I believe you’re having a lovely dinner with your father.
The stamped towel set is my favorite.

    477
  397. Hi and Happy Birthday from California! I would imagine that you will do some stitching that has absolutely no connection to anyone’s (including your own) expectations of what stitching you ought to be doing. Otherwise, what’s the point in having birthdays? Gloria Elizabeth

    478
  398. I think perhaps you will go on a picnic with some friends and family in it. Enjoy your day day together on your very special day. Happy birthday Mary.

    479
  399. Have the happiest birthday spending time with your closest peeps and family! Don’t forget to eat some chocolate!

    480
  400. Happy Birthday, Mary! If the weather allows, step outside the studio and take a stroll to enjoy and be inspired by the “coming up” of the plants and the lovely flowering trees! All of that wonderful, glorious color. Thank you for keeping me inspired with the variety of stitching you experiment with and master! Have a great one!

    483
  401. I suspect your birthday will be a laughter filled family affair. I love my birthday – for my 25th I had 18 for drinks and dessert at the Plaza hotel
In NY. For my 30th it was a picnic in Central Park for a performance of Opera. For my 40th I spent a week in Paris. For my 50th 3 friends and I invited 120 people to a 3 day event in Italy. For 60 I did a Peggy Lee style concert and raised $10,000 for charity. Birthdays should be celebrated.

    484
  402. Hippo birdy two ewe! Happy birthday mate from Australia 🙂 . I think your birthday plans include time with family, cake and probably a bit of stitching ♡.

  404. I love that you’re white work book with color includes transfers.
These are a real help to me when I am learning something new.
The happiest of birthdays to you!

    487
  405. Happy Birthday. I suggest a day of stitching followed by dinner at your favorite restaurant, dessert is a must.

    488
  406. A birthday suggestion is to find a”Mystery Tour” and have a day’s adventure. Having participated in a Mystery Tour, I would recommend going on one. The day was filled with easy adventure and some surprises. Happy Birthday

    489
  407. As its spring in your part of the world how about a wander through a lovely park with a stop at a cafe for a special treat and to watch the world go by. Happy birthday, Mary

    493
  411. Go out for a spa day; facial, manicure, pedicure, massage and lunch; and just relax and let people do things for you.

    495
  412. I think your plan is to stay with family around a table with a delicious strawberry cake and some Brazilian tipical sweet on birthdays: brigadeiro – it is a chocolate/condensed milk ball.

    496
  413. For your birthday you will celebrate by stitching the day away and then having a fun dinner with family and friends. To top it off you will have a rich wine paired with a wonderful dessert.

    497
  414. I don’t want to win anything as I’ve stopped sewing. However, I love reading your emails in the hope that I shall start sewing again and I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday and to say ‘Thank you’ on everyone’s behalf as it’s such a lovely idea to give other people presents. However, I DO hope you have lots of presents and a very enjoyable day.
    With love
    Kate

  416. Happiest of birthdays, Mary! Your birthday plans include behind the scenes tours of several museums and their textile and needlework collections. In England? In France or Italy? Or the historic sites here in the original thirteen colonies? Have fun!

    502
  417. First of all, a very Happy Birthday.
You will probably spend a good portion of the day in your studio. Hopefully, you will take time to answer birthday calls from friends, relatives and clients. Always so good to talk to those we don’t get to chat with often.
To end the day, perhaps a glass of wine and a nice dinner out.
But best of all may it be a day of peace, joy and good health.

    503
  418. What are you going to do for your birthday, knowing you it will be some fun stitching time using some special threads while eating birthday cake.

    Happy Birthday Mary!

    504
  419. Happy birthday, Mary! I’ve been a silent reader for a little while but this seemed as good a time as any to drop a comment and say hello 🙂
I’m going to guess you’re spending your birthday stitching in your beautiful shop and perhaps winding down the day with a home cooked dinner, a sunset stroll, and nice big slice of chocolate cake.

    505
  420. Happy Birthday Mary and many more.
I think your Birthday plans include a nice glass of wine, a comfy chair and stitching whatever you feel like doing. That would be mine anyway.

Thanks for you sharing your talent & all you do for our stitching community.

    507
  421. For your birthday I think you’ll be buying more supplies but it’s also how I think you should celebrate. You know what you most want and you should give that to yourself. It’s what I do for my birthday. Happy birthday!

    509
  422. Happy Birthday, Mary! I’m guessing that you might use your special day to work on an equally special project, possibly without any interruptions or distractions. Anyway, that would be my preference for a perfect birthday. But whatever you choose to do, have fun!

    510
  423. Happy Birthday Mary! Wishing you very many happy returns and only the best in this next year!

    513
  426. I live in the beautiful Hunter Valley in NSW, Australia and look forward to your emails. Always so much great information. I belong to a fairly large embroidery group, Maitland Embroiderers Group with about 80 members. There is a wealth of information among the members, who are always willing to share their knowledge, and a wonderful reference library as well. There is so much to learn. I don’t think I’ll live long enough to master the art.
    JudyC

    514
  427. Your special birthday party with a fantastic class and people around the table learning and enjoying your class of embroidery. I only wish I would live close to your shop to join you but Australia is a bit far. Enjoy your birthday and best wishes Mary.

  434. A very happy, BLESSED birthday and many happy returns!
My guess is that you are spending your birthday either doing some just-for-fun stitching or reading about stitching.

    523
  435. If I were guessing what you were going to do I’d say there will be some time spent in your “happy place” stitching on something you are excited about not your current gold banner. Ha ha. I hope you have a great day. My suggestion would be to treat yourself to a nice relaxing facial so you will be putting out a fresh face for the new year ahead. Go to someplace fancy and let them pamper you.

  451. Happiest of days Mary and many more to come. With Spring in the air an outdoor picnic near water would be lovely and soothe the soul!! I envisage a lovely boat ride like in the UK!!
Whatever you do am sure it will be lovely

    542
  452. I think that you should take the day to start a project that is talking to you. One you can’t wait to get started on.

    543
  453. I would hope birthday plans might include sleeping late (or later than usual anyway) and using that extra time of sleep (or rest) to recharge your energies. Then even as an extra bonus, breakfast out somewhere! As an aside, I love the Trish Burr books. I have some of hers and have done some of the projects found in them. As a matter of fact, one of the pieces is being entered in the state fair by request of the county fair board. I’m quite excited about that.

    544
  454. Sit quietly with a small glass of champagne and some gentle music in the background, and contemplate all the wonderful things you have done for the world

    545
  455. Each day that I open my eyes in the morning is a day to celebrate. Happy today !!!

    546

  462. Sit back in a comfortable chair in a corner to watch nature with a cup of tea and a favorite sewing project.

    553
  463. Happy Birthday! In our family the B-day girl gets to pick her favorite meal and dessert. When we were young, my brother always chose liver and onions – even though us kids all hated it (including him). He loved to see us have to eat it – even smothered in ketchup it was awful! Hope you get to pick something or somewhere delicious!

    554
  464. Hi, Mary. Today is my birthday, too. I’ve read your blog for several years and don’t remember you ever mentioning your birthday. I hope you had a great day. My mom took me to lunch to celebrate. I think you spent your birthday working on an unexpected repair at your studio. Then your niece, Anna, had a surprise party in the evening.

    555
  465. I think you will start your day with a nice hot cup of tea while you are sorting through seed packets that will be planted in your garden. Then you could meet up with your dearest friends for a light celebratory lunch followed by curling up with a good book until you top off the day with your family and a nice dinner. No matter how you spend your day may you have many blessings throughout the year! Happy Birthday

    556
  466. Maybe someone will make a birthday iSpy game for you! I hope you have a wonderful birthday celebration week!

    557
  467. I think you are going out for dinner, then watch a movie. Anything but embroidery;)

    Happy Birthday!!

    558
  468. Wishing you a wonderful birthday Mary! I think you will celebrate your day with family and friends. Your fans will be joining you in spirit!

    559
  469. I hope it involves stitching and a lovely cup of tea. Maybe a midday nap, too. Enjoy your day!

    560
  470. You will work on a project from the back burner with a lovely cup of tea and crumpet
    Maybe Anna will join you
Dinner, wine, birthday cake with family.

    561
  471. I am not very good at guessing so I will suggest a good movie theater and a nice upscale restaurant. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a truly wonderful day.

    562
  472. Happy 20, 000ish day!
My guess is you’ll get to do a little bit of fun stitching, and lots of fun celebration time with your family.
    Enjoy your beautiful day!

    563
  473. Birthday plans? …..thread shopping, linen shopping, needles, minders, hoops, books. Followed by the pure joy of organizing all the new goodies.

    564
  474. For your 20,000th birthday, a dinner where you dont cook or cleanup and a favorite desert.

    565
  475. Since stitching is your business, I imagine you doing something related but different for your birthday such as painting a few designs or searching for the perfect thread, linen or stitching book. Because, even though it’s your business, you obviously love what you do!! And so do we!! Happy birthday!
    PS Mine was Sunday!!

    567
  476. My guess is that you’ll have a small family gathering with someone else cooking dinner and then a quiet evening at home.

    568
  477. Happy birthday! I think it’s fun to get food to eat that you wouldn’t ordinarily make yourself, either by eating in a favorite restaurant or eating take out at home.

I love reading your blog and getting inspired to get back to embroidery! I hope to stop in your shop on a future visit to see my sister in Kansas City. ❤️

    569
  478. Wishing you a Very Happy Birthday, Mary!

I think you’ll buy yourself some beautiful new threads that you probably don’t need but, since its your birthday, why not? Then you’ll go out for dinner at your favorite restaurant and eat way too much, but still follow it up with the obligatory birthday dessert. Sounds like a great birthday to me, anyway!

    570
  479. Happy Birthday Mary! I think you’ll fill your day with lots of laughter and cake with family and friends. Have a wonderful day!

    571
  480. Happy Birthday Mary!! I am an April birthday also so it’s always fabulous to meet another Aries! As to your birthday plans, I hope you are doing something to pamper yourself, like a full-body massage or maybe a trip to someplace where you can sit on a beach & sip drinks with umbrellas in them. If not that, then I hope whatever you do involves copious amounts of chocolate & stuff that makes you feel great!! BTW, I have it on good authority that chocolate has absolutely no calories for the entire week of your birthday…so go for it girl!

    572
  481. Hi Mary,
I think you will stay at home, put your feet up and stitch the day away. No cooking, order out and have it delivered!

    573
  482. Your birthday shall be spent with family, stitching, and just really enjoying yourself. No work today!

    574
  483. Happy Birthday Mary, I think you will have a lovely party or dinner out with Family, probably on the weekend so everyone can attend.
    Or
You could splurge & go to the Caribbean for an awesome warm & beachy weekend.

    575
  484. Happy Birthday! I think you’ll be stitching something lovely and enjoying birthday cake with loved ones.

    578
  485. I have no idea what your plans are, I just hope that there’s no inclement weather! Mine would include a walk in the sunshine, some stitching time, and some chocolate cake!

    579
  486. It’s your birthday so all choices are yours. What do you want for dinner? What do you want to do l day (or during your free time on your day? What do you want for a gift or do you prefer to go shopping and make someone else pay for it?

    580
  487. Wow what a great treat the baloons look very festive. Pity they can’t be there for longer than a week. Sneek another week and say “wasn’t my birthday this week?”
Kind regards from a soon to be an octogenarian.
    Coral Smart

    581
  488. Dear,
happy birthday! I always enjoy your great tips and comments.
It doesn’t matter what you embroider, as long as you enjoy it and secretly enjoy the compliments from admirers.
It’s nice that you occasionally process your personal concerns in a light-hearted way in the mails, that’s how I feel, (even though I live in faraway Belgium) connected to the event.
Give my regards to your studio buddy.
    M.Sper

    583
  489. Happy Birthday Mary!!

I hope you are having a family and friends dinner to celebrate your birthday. I feel shared memorable events are the way to go

    584
  490. Happy Birthday! I think you are planning a small afternoon tea party followed by a relaxing evening stitching.

    585
  491. Happy birthday blessings Mary. I wonder if your plans include fantastic family, fabulous food, frolicking fun, and fancy fabrics (a little alliteration for you)

    Blessings,
    Maria M (NZ)

    586
  492. Happy Birthday! Enjoy High Tea for your special day! Petit Fours are the best! Yum!

    587
  493. Happy Birthday! Go to a restaurant serving High Tea! Petit Fours are the best! Enjoy your day!

    589
  494. For your birthday I hope you get to sit and stitch with friends. Maybe go wild and start a new project!

    590
  495. Happy birthday! I hope you have time to bask in the good wishes and nibble tasty treats! My guess is that you’ll spend some birthday minutes stitching, too.

    592
  496. In our weekly needlework group we celebrate birthdays on the 1st Saturday meeting of every month so no one misses out. I have been involved with our group for over 30 years so there has been many birthdays celebrated.

    593
  497. A birthday is never complete without family, friends, cake and your favourite / happy place. Mary have a happy, happy birthday with maybe cake and coffee or favorite afternoon drink with friends; dinner and cake with family followed by an hour or more of quiet stitching . A very happy birthday wish.

    594
  498. Going out for a nice meal and spending the rest of the time sewing.
    Have a great birthday
    Kate

    595
  499. I think you’ll be spending the day relaxing with family, friends, and maybe a little personal stitching. Happy Birthday Mary!!!

    596
  500. I guess you are going to have a nice, peaceful meal with your family and enjoy some cake!

    597
  501. My guess is you would love to spend your birthday with family. My best birthday would be to have a whole day of “me” time!

    Happy birthday, Mary.

    600
  502. I recommend a chocolate sheet cake with an icing version of an embroidery sampler on top 🙂
I used your formula to calculate my age, and I’m nearly 23,000. Interesting calculation, but kind of scary!

    601
  503. Happy birthday, Mary! My guess is that you spent the day doing fun and relaxing stitching only, and maybe went out for a nice lunch or dinner. I love your birthday decorations!

    602
  504. Hi Mary, for your birthday party you are hosting a wonderful give-away and a sale, and, I hope, a huge cake for yourself! Thank you for your inspiring work and incredible tips, how-to’s and projects, from which I have learned so much. Many happy returns!

    603
  505. Happy Birthday. I wish you a fun filled year with plenty of good health. Not sure what your plans are but your day should be filled with self care. Enjoy whatever you do to celebrate all 20,000 days!

    605
  506. I think your birthday plans include a quiet dinner with family, cake, and an evening of stitching. ‘Cause you know, your age is 20,000! Happy Birthday!

    606
  507. I suggest you visit the nearest flower show (indoor) or outdoor spring blooms – it might be inspiring for your art! Take your camera.

    607
  508. I hope your birthday is wonderful by sleeping late, having breakfast in bed with someone special (significiant other, spouse, family), going someplace nice and relaxing so you can pamper yourself, coming home to a clean and sweet smelling house, greeted by someone you love, with a wonderful dinner and a beautiful dessert.

Have a happy birthday no matter what you do!
    Rhonda
ps. Thank you for all the beautiful ideas and artwork.

    608
  509. My bet for how you spend your birthday does include some work, just because I don’t think you could go a whole day without at least doing some work related task. Then on to something to do with family and friends. If there’s a textile related museum or exhibit anywhere is a 20-40 mile radius, you’re bound to make an appearance. You will probably enjoy a meal with one or a few special people, and hopefully have a wonderful, relaxing day !
    Happy Birthday to you!

    609
  510. Happy 20,000 th. I think you are going to celebrate with chocolate and friends. Hopefully go for a walk in a nearby park or garden. I love your embroidery designs.

    610
  511. Birthday Plans – a nice cup of tea, some stitching time in your “Happy Place”, a family birthday dinner and of course a birthday cake !
Hope it’s a great celebration Mary!

    Peggy

    611
  512. Based on the picture, I would guess that your birthday plans involve sitting in the shop and celebrating with all that arrive like the queen that you are! That pointy birthday hat is perfect, and the balloons are highly festive. I hope that you get lots of UFOs completed for your birthday — that is what I wish for every year! (April 8th is an auspicious day for your birthday — it is my favorite brother’s birthday too — of course he is my only brother….) Wishing you a very happy birthday and wishing you many more trips around the sun.

    612
  513. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope your day is a special one.
My preferred birthday celebration is pizza and cupcakes! I too will be celebrating a milestone birthday this month. I’ve been looking for a place to get the best cupcakes in town for a month now. Gotta have plenty of good frosting.
Thank you for all your wonderful and beautiful work I use as inspiration.
    Kathy

    613
  514. I think you’d love to go out for a nice dinner with friends, followed by some quiet evening stitching. (Or maybe that’s my dream evening…)

    Happy birthday Mary!

    614
  515. Happy Birthday! I am thinking dinner with family and small party with staff. Kind of quiet. I am not a partier; I’m all about the cake.

    615
  516. I will guess your birthday is April 11th what to do on your Birthday, put your feet up rest for a while then a lovely meal with family and friends, take a walk if weather is nice but just enjoy the day finish it off with a nice box of chocolates …keep safe keep well…..

    616
  517. You should have dinner at your favorite restaurant and then a quiet night stitching what you want not what you have to stitch
    Happy Birthday

    617
  518. Your birthday plans are to spend a relaxing day stitching, and then a nice dinner out with your closest family and friends!

    618
  519. First of all, wishing you a fabulous belated
    “Birthday”.
I’m sure you will be stitching something
spectacular on your special day with loads of family and friends!!!

    619
  520. Happy Birthday, Mary. Spending time with family for your birthday is always nice. Let them pamper you. Enjoy your special day.

    620
  521. By now your birthday is probably over but I think you need to go to Las Vegas, spend $5 on the slots, and then go home again with all of your winnings. I hope your day was lovely!

    621
  522. The balloons indicate you would be at your shop but I would suggest a cozy retreat with your choice of beverage and a good book! Hope you have a great day!

    622
  523. This is for your Birthday plans:

Meeting up with all your family! (with someone else to do all the party cooking, clearing, tidying etc)
A lovely rest with your feet up, some embroidery and threads to toy with, and a really good audio book.

    Happy Birthday!

    Alison W.

    623
  524. Happy, Happy Birthday, Mary!
    A birthday suggestion:
How about a spring visit to the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace?

    624
  525. I hope you enjoy a nice dinner out and time to work on your currently favorite project.

    625
  526. Happy Happy Birthday!
Spend your day doing the things you love, with the people you love 🙂
Time flies, enjoy every minute of your 20,000 days!

    627
  527. Happy Birthday, Mary!
My guess is that you will have some time to stitch; and in the evening, share a meal and birthday cake with friends and family.
    Beth B

    628
  528. If the weather is good, take the time for a spring walk in a park. a local zoo, a city walk or an arboretum and really look at your surroundings. Take photos of interesting things that inspire you for future projects, whether it be for embroidery, painting, illustrating, the list goes on. Then of course food must be involved!
I embroidered a lot as a teenager and and young adult, then kids came along, job, etc. I am so glad to “discover” you as you inspired me to go back to it and I am so very grateful, thank you! Happy Birthday and enjoy your day 🙂

    629
  529. The best celebration is to let go of the usual compulsions, relax, and in the words of Gloria Steinem when asked for advice: “Do something outrageous.”

    630
  530. Happy birthday!

Whatever you do, I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends.

    631
  531. Happiest of Birthday wishes! Go forth for a walk or meander among the new spring blossoms!!

    632
  532. Have a wonderful birthday! Each year that passes makes us plan for the next, and hope yours includes a special fancy dinner!

    633
  533. Happy birthday! I hope you are able to celebrate by eating something you enjoy, whether that’s a traditional birthday cake, your favorite meal, or simply a nice cup of tea 🙂

    634
  534. I think maybe you will go somewhere nice for dinner and then go home for a quite time at home, curled up with your needlework in your hands, or maybe reading a great book.

    635
  535. Happy Birthday. Thought you were sending it to me as it is also my birthday. Hope you are planning a nice dinner and or treating yourself to something very special. I am going out for dinner with my daughter in-law.
Have a wonderful day for both of us. 🙂

    636
  536. I think that your birthday plans are to watch a movie and have something horribly unhealthy. (Not exciting, I know, but honestly the best birthday plans don’t need to be )

    637
  537. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY! Hmm your plans I am guessing is; spending time with the things you love the most.
My wish for you are; Spa day, Afternoon tea with friends, Dinner with loved ones. Or, do nothing at all and enjoy the day as it comes. What every your day is have a wonderful day and celebrate you!

    Sincerely,

    Eve from Minnesota

    638
  538. Mary – I suspect that before you blow out the birthday candles, you will look at all that you have experienced over the years you have lived and wonder how you can become the person you want to be in the years you are looking forward to. I suspect we have fewer years to go than we have lived through, but there is always a bit more we would like to do. Many happy returns for the day! Kris

    639
  539. Happy Birthday! Spend time with your family and friends. Hope you do something special for yourself.

    641
  540. Seeing how you can have any kit you prefer, I would forgo a nice dinner and curl up on my comfy sofa in front of a fire, and proceed to stitch the night away.
    Enjoy and Happy Birthday
    Dona

    642
  541. If l were you l would go for a lovely meal with my Bestie, that being a husband or a friend.
    HAPPY HAPPY Birthday

    643
  542. Happy 20,001st birthday!! Enjoy your flowers your lovely cake, a nice dinner-
    and maybe some stitching

    644
  543. I think it would be lovely for you to enjoy a really nice dinner with close family and friends followed by a beautiful, yummy, luscious birthday cake. To make it a perfect day, spend time stitching fun things for you.

    645
  544. Is it too early for a trip to the local greenhouse/nursery, to treat yourself to some new flowers for the garden? They would add a lovely splash of color to any gray-weather days that may still be ahead. They might inspire a new embroidery project, too! Happy birthday, regardless of how you choose to celebrate!

    646
  545. I think you should take Anna out to lunch and then shopping for new embroidery threads. Then finally your family will visit you bringing cake and ice cream.

    647
  546. Hello Mary

Happy Birthday! I’m thinking a cosy dinner with family / friends then some quiet stitching on your most favourite current project.

    Regards
    Delia

    648
  547. I guess (and hope) that you got to have a lovely meal with people who are important to you. Happy birthday!

    650
  548. From what I’ve gleaned from reading your blogs, I suspect that you will work for most of the day, either filling orders based on the sale, or working on your experiments with the clerical embroidery you’re working on, or finalizing the next Stitch Snippet. At the end of the day, you’ll have a lovely dinner with your Dad and possibly other family members. How ever you celebrate, I hope you truly enjoy it!

    652
  549. Hi, Mary!

    Happy birthday!

I don’t know what you’re doing for your birthday, so I’ll suggest one of my favorite days:

Swimming laps at the Y, followed by breakfast with friends. Since it’s my birthday, maybe go to the local spa for a sound bath and pedicure. Then a WhatsApp call with my Bestie. After that, curl up in bed with my cat and some stitching or a book.

    654
  550. I think you should have a catered high tea, while doing some stitching, watching Downtown Abbey and knowing your house is being professionally deep cleaned and will be spotless when you get back from your massage.

    655
  551. A perfect birthday would be one spent stitching with no interruptions like making dinner.

    656
  552. I think you will plan stitching time, a birthday dinner with your Dad and Family and Anna will make you a cake with candles.

    657
  553. the world is spinning a little off balance right now. How wonderful to have an activity to calm the mind and refresh the soul. You made it all possible for me. Blessings on your birthday

    658
  554. Hey! My birthday is April 5th and I turned 74. I visit your site all the time for inspiration and education. I hope your birthday is filled with many friend and family with lots of laughter. I made your little Blossoms purse and gave to my daughter to put her business cards in. Have a happy healthy year.

    659
  555. Happy Birthday Mary!

I’ll suggest some plans rather than guess. Attend Mass to give thanks for the years you’ve been given and ask Father for a blessing afterwards. Spend the day doing something fun that you’ve been longing to do and just haven’t had time for. Indulge in a sweet treat or special beverage. Enjoy your day!

    Joan

    660
  556. I think you will have a quiet dinner with your dad and end the day with stitching. The previous or following weekend will find you at a larger celebration with family & friends. Thanks for inviting us to celebrate your birthday! Happy birthday!

    662
  557. For your birthday I hope you stitch something new, eat an old favorite, and try something outside your comfort zone.

    663
  558. I would guess that you might get a bottle of Coke and look at all the beautiful things you have in the shop. Then you could pull out the colors that you like best and start making something with them Maybe you could make a little bag for each of the wonderful prizes that you mentioned. A girlfriend just got the butterfly book and that butterfly on the front is stunning done. She framed it. WOW

    664
  559. Happy Birthday, Mary. I imagine you will be at work, enjoying some sewing and meeting with fellow needleworkers. Then I suspect you will be enjoying a huge family meal (hopefully prepared by someone else!!) Maybe Anna is taking the afternoon off to cook for you?

    Whatever it is, Enjoy!

    665
  560. Happy Birthday!
To celebrate your special day I think you should do what makes you most happy, and if that is to stitch more then do it and maybe stitch for yourself
Also, I hope you will celebrate how much joy you bring to so many by sharing your extraordinary talent!
    I have just begun stitching.
It is the perfect hobby to have as I have to take care of my husband all day!
You have given happiness and beauty to my days
    Thank you!!!

    666
  561. Happy birthday, Mary! I suggest you have a massage for your birthday. Maybe a hand massage since you use your hands so much!
Whatever you do, enjoy celebrating another trip around the sun!

    667
  562. I’m sure your birthday plans would be with family, but may include a little hand stitching. Happy Birthday Mary !!

    668
  563. First, happy birthday! I have not met anyone with this birthday since I was in HS (1977)! Wonderful that I know there are now 5 of us.
I don’t know what your plans are but I would guess sitting back and appreciating all the beautiful and inspirational projects you provide, sharing your experiences and planning out your next gorgeous pieces. Probably wrong, but I would do that if I had your beautiful studio.
Your videos are SO helpful and easy to follow. Your patterns are lovely and I cannot wait to retire and embroider and sew all day!
    Thank you.

    669
  564. I would plan a week of stitching something new and perhaps a little different. Plus there would be lunch at a favorite restaurant and maybe planting some new flowers for spring! Do all the things you love❣️ Happy Birthday

    670
  565. I think that your birthday plans will include having a meal that you love with one or more people who very special to you. I hope they will also include time to reflect on all the ways you have helped so many people to enjoy embroidery and to improve their skills. You have shared so much with your community. Happy Birthday to you!

    673
  566. Might I suggest celebrating your birthday by taking time to be kind to yourself!
We women can be so busy that we forget to love ourselves!
Whatever you decide – enjoy each moment!!!

    674
  567. I think you are invited to go out to eat to a special place. Order a medium rare filet (yum) something that is hard to prepare at home..Happy Birthday and enjoy your night out!!!

    675
  568. Happy Birthday Mary! Hope you take some time to pamper yourself…and do whatever gives you pleasure, be it with your needle and thread, celebrating with family and friends, or taking in the great outdoors!

    676
  569. Happy Birthday Mary! I’m hoping your birthday includes some “me time” to sit, maybe with a cup of tea or drink of your choice, some relaxing music and be able to stitch or read a book. With all that you do for your followers it’s important to take time for yourself. I love your articles, projects and information and hope your day is all that you wish for.

    677
  570. BIRTHDAY!!! Yaaaa! Happy 30th BDay. 😉 What you must do is eat cake & icecream, THEN have a nice dinner. Indulge a little. Whatever you do, make it special. A pretty blouse, favourite earrings, or try that new restaurant. Celebrate your way, as each day is a gift, every birthday milestone. Thank you for a fantastic website with valuable information, your knowledge has helped me accomplish my goals.

    678
  571. You give the best instructions for embroidery. So easy to follow and the stitches are so varied that I can find anything to fit all my projects.

    679
  572. Happy Birthday Mary!!

I hope you had a great day. I can’t begin to guess your birthday plans, but I hope you eat cake or whatever your favorite dessert is. I have suggestions for birthday plans….

If you’re an introvert, plan a whole day to just do stuff you like (movie, stitching, take your pick) just keep it to whatever you want to do and not something you have to do.

If you’re an extrovert, maybe plan a fun girls night out at a favorite restaurant or a dinner party at home.

    680
  573. Your birthday morning will start a bit early with a hot mug of tea & watching the sun rise. Then get ready for a birthday breakfast out with family. Once back home, go thru the emails & such for birthday blessings & wishes. The day is yours to stitch on that piece you have been working on, that one that is for you.

Around 4pm, you are ready for a special early dinner & ‘party’ at the restaurant you love to go to. The back room has been reserved just for you & yours for the night. Friends & family & fans come & go all evening, showering you with all their love & friendship. There are flowers & gifts all over the room.

As you lay in bed, you replay the day in your head and fall asleep smiling.

    682
  574. I am so glad I discovered your website, loaded with information, and your designs are incredible. I printed out one of your free patterns, which I want to try for embroidery. I think it will be a challenge for me and I am looking forward to try out different things and being creative.
Your birthday plan should be whatever you would like to do whether it’s being busy and taking a day trip or spending time with just family and a wonderful dinner. Since I live in Maryland, on my birthday, I like to head over to the eastern shore and get steam crabs by the water. That’s a perfect day for me. I hope you have a perfect day.

    683
  575. Mary, I bet your birthday plan is to stitch in your PJ’s for a relaxing day at home. However, maybe your plan should include a big ice cream Sunday with no calories and a big cherry on top
    Whatever you do , ENJOY

    684
  576. Happy Birthday! My guess would be stitching on your hexi-quilt and dinner out. Thanks for the give-away.

    685
  577. Very happy slightly belated birthday.

I hope your plans included all the cake. And whatever else tickled your fancy.

Thanks very much for all the inspiration!

    686

  589. Happy Birthday Mary

Your birthday plans must include some embroidery item – whether it’s stitching, shopping for goods, or revelling in an appropriate book or website, I’m sure it/they will be part of your birthday joy.
